Western Sydney Wanderers Thread- Cosplay Ultras Edition

Ugarkovic was my one player from another club I wanted when he was at newy, has been a shell of his former self at western suburbs tho.

This isn’t the first time they’ve done that.

Their level of saltiness can’t be good for their health.

Western suburbs have just announced the signing of a attacking midfielder that has previously player for Evian

Not true. Mentions ‘cross town rivals’. That’s us. Macarthur are 'western periphery rivals)

Scholarship deal? Giving him 2 years on a lowball contract to see if he can get fit and performing, if not they can cut him loose maybe without too much of a loss.

Well that’s disappointing. He deserves better than that

Really wish he had stayed and hope he comes back soon.

In the meantime, given he is a poker player with soft tissue injuries, better that he is at a club sponsored by Voltaren than one sponsored by Star Casino.

How could a 21 year old be eligible for a 2 year scholarship deal, given that its necessarily u21?

Also another slap in the face for their academy kids. Why would any kid go through their academy when they’ll just get overlooked for kids from the SFC academy instead? Guess we can’t complain.

Also, that you can offer scholarship contracts for someone who didn’t come through your academy remains incredibly farcical.

Didn’t they also offer the same thing to Jordy Swibel? Some of their Academy graduates have gone to other clubs no doubt too (like Devlin did when he came to us).

No, he deserved better than being cut loose by us but told he could hang around in case he came good.
There is a very clear pattern developing and I am not one bit happy about it.

The guy gets injured more than Harry Kewell. It isn’t the end of the world. He might play 20mins in 2 seasons

Injured or not Paolo Retre?

The announcement made by the club in regards to his status a couple of weeks ago is very reminiscent of the announcements WSW were making 12 months ago in regards to players like Mo Adam. According to them he quit to pursue studies yet appeared less than 6 months later in Greece.

You cannot argue that we have lost some of our most promising young players to what appear to be sideways moves this offseason.
We extended Zuvela’s contract in a very similar situation and it could be argued that Hof showed a lot more potential than he did.

I’ll tell you what, if Corica doesn’t get his recruitment spot on this season and we aren’t near the top of the league playing attractive football, the atmosphere is going to be poisonous.

Wait, we extended Zuvela’s contract for next season!?

no

Yeah, that makes a mockery of the cap tbh.

Also, pretty telling (and sad) that his best option was a scholarship deal over there.

Le sigh.

We can keep a clearly broken Michael Zullo for a couple of years and tease us with ‘1-week’, but we can’t support one of our most talented youth players, who feels like his best option is to join our direct rivals, with a well publicised history of having a toxic environment, and not even signing a full contract.

Not saying we’re perfect, but some strange things happening around the club recently.

The Zullo thing had to be some type of insurance scam or injury replacement creative accounting
