Terrorist attack in New Orleans overnight. A man - ex US Military - drove his truck down Bourbon Street killing 10 people. Then got out started shooting at Cops, killed 2 before being shot dead himself. Found an ISIS flag in the truck. Also had bombs set for remote detonation.
I think the last one they tried to arrest he got away with it. Too mny supporters blocked the police. Almost happened here as well. A few weeks ago, cops tried to get into his compound but were blocked by his security detail and supporters
I enjoyed that. I’ve always found this interesting. I had always thought that everyone uses logic to reach opinions. When people argue with logic, logic tells them that they cant be wrong. Everyone has some sort of past experience that effects that logic.
It’s an interesting point that he brings up about the conformity threshold scale. Something that has always confused me is that when I change my mind in a decision or a discussion, some people might argue that you can’t just change your mind. The idea that you can’t change your mind about something is absurd and I had surrendered to the idea that some people are just wired to argue.
Part of my learning over the last 6 months is that logic irrelevant. People’s emotional reaction over rides logic. This is something I continually ran into in my last job. Not matter how logical I was, people had an emotional reaction to my attempts to change things.
