Absolutely wierd. Noone really knows what the go is, whether it was an attempted coup or what. Wierder is that the US wasnt even informed. Considering the rhetoric, it could have sparked off fighting with N. Korea

I saw someone comment online that he was cranky that the opposition was too oppositionny for him and he threw a tantrum.
The last time there was martial law in Korea they were a dictatorship.
The parliament voted 190-0 in favour of lifting martial law.
I don’t think he’s got much support left.
The main group I’m familiar with is the Kurdish autonomous areas of the North, where Assad has basically given up taking them back, they’ve formed a very anarcho-syndicalist democratic zone governed by local councils. They were one of the main forces that actually fought ISIS with boots on the ground, given they are godless communists etc… Turkey also hates them, both because of their own history of Kurdish independence movements and because it blocks their ability to meddle. No sign of them having any conflict with the new “rebels” yet.

They’re voting to impeach. As far as I can tell, he’s a heavily right wing politician, that’s been absolutely embroiled with scandal after scandal. He’s got a huge medical situation occurring through S. Korea and his wife has done so much crap that there’s now a government position to watch and guide her, despite the fact that he’s refused to do anything else. She’s been under a cloud after she was caught taking many presents for preferential treatment. The guy has a 17% approval rating at the moment and has a hostile government that’s controlled by left wing parties. He’s entire position is completely untenable.
Although loving a country that managed to stop a dictator from taking power without a single shot being fired… Something for the US to look at

Looks like the Russians have shot down another airliner. Seemingly an impressive feat from the pilots to get the plane to Kazakhstan and somehow not everyone died.
And the American government specifically discouraged immigration ( I believe they even codified it into law ) from post war Jews fleeing the holocaust which is interesting in the context of the post war formation of the state of the Israel.
They didn’t have any issues importing Nazi scientists however ala Operation Paperclip.
