23/24 Grand Final: Sea Bogans V Australia's Shame

Weird how his profile pic is him in front of the harbour bridge.

Poor bloke is just jealous that the only waterfront landmarks he can stand in front of at home is an open sewer.

It’s just as beautiful as the Mark Bridge thousand yard stare squat.

I gotta say, when I saw Mariners equalise late against Shame in the Unite Round I couldn’t have guessed it would happen again in the GF.

LOL, remember Victory were top for a while, then undefeated with a bunch of draws?

Would like to point out, schadenfreude aside, we also won more than the Victory this season, 2 if you count men and women together.

Could Mariners argue they won a quadruple since they also won the Club Championship (most men’s and women’s combined points)? The presentation was at the first leg of the women’s semi, when their men’s team was stuck overseas.

I still don’t know how CC is counted for Bulls and Canberra? Do they get some sort of handicap?

I’m quite comfortable stating that a pitch invasion without someone copping a bucket to the head is more acceptable than one where someone does cop a bucket to the head. Odd that it would be controversial for anyone but we live in a world with Victory and Wanderers fans.

I love how Google never incorporates stops into the distance.

Enjoy your 12 hour bus ride home. Not.

Also, at the game’s conclusion vs. in the middle of the thing. End of GF pitch invasions are quite standard in the Shute Shield. Actually, the very first time I went to WS Stadium I walked on the grass after Uni won.

I know we always say it but it really is the best league in the world. Name a more entertaining league or one where so much crazy shit happens

I wonder if they’re planning a stop at Thornleigh Maccas so I can go and harass them.

I mean, Iran, but that crazy shit is wildly annoying, like spending 20 minutes mobbing the referee.

Just got home from the match. That whole game was wild. So boring and cagey, then desolate of all hope, then - bang.

Apparently losing Grand Finals doesn’t get any easier the 5th time

Fuck that’s brutal, I love it.

That was me sitting there when Wests equalised against us before Kucharski scored. Gotta love football.

Also no VAR bullshit at all the whole game, unbelievable.

I was going to say that it was very pleasing that the referee was seen and not heard in this game, which is what we hope for in nearly every game but usually don’t get. Kudos to Alex King for having a good game.

I know in the days leading up to it, the Victory fans weren’t happy about King’s appointment because they thought he would be biased against him which is stupid, no referee is biased here i think, they’re all just chaotically unpredictable.

So for Victory to lose because they choked massively, and for it to not have involved the ref at all, is great.

To be fair to Poppa he’s just seen his $750K salary disappear this time around.

Nisbet, who won the Johnny Warren Medal for player of the season, set up the first goal and provided the penultimate pass for the Mariners’ second goal, finished by 18-year-old Miguel Di Pizio.
