exactly what a few others have said, we should be at this point where we shouldn’t give a crap. But the difference is that me saying I like women, has no real reaction in the population. A gay person saying, I like men, has people abusing them, saying they’re after attention and the rest. More people saying they’re gay allows it to come into normality, rather than gay people having to be quiet about it.
It’s the equivalent of people complaining, when there’s a gay couple kissing on tv, that homosexuality is being forced upon them, or they’re pushing homosexuality into peoples’ faces. Yet when you have a straight couple kissing, the same people don’t complain about that…
We have to also remember that homosexuality is banned in dozens of countries where football is the number one sport.
Sport, politics and society are closely intertwined despite what anyone says. Single acts of courage like this can inspire others to advocacy and change.
I must say I had a similar “what’s the big deal” reaction initially. But reading Josh Cavallo in his owns words really puts into perspective what it was like from his side. A male pro football team is not a regular workplace and this took some courage. Power to him.
I mean you could upgrade, but you’d be spending millions on purchasing all those properties south of it. Either that, or you go the Liverpool FC route of buying small numbers of properties, letting them fall into disrepair, wait for the land price to go down and THEN buy everything else
