Heâs only played 30 minutes for the Wanderers NPL team and only just turned 16. Maybe time in the cup is what youâd expect to see this season all going well.
A bit strange considering I assume Kamijo came over around the same age and no fuss was made.

We have never had a child prodigy really boom across the A-League. Adelaide seem to have had a few, but our young lads seem to do some good work closer to the end of their teens rather than this younger age.

I assume itâs a first team deal because they wouldnât spruik it like this if it was academy / NPL only. So on one hand hate that weâre again lobbing a deal at an unproven kid like we did with Amanatidis, Glasson and ZdJ. On the other hand, cult hero!

Who knows but we did do the same with the 3 I mentioned.
How the cap functions is pretty vague these days, but the club have recently made distinctions in these releases as to whether theyâre scholarship deals or not. They also made a point of stating âprofessional contractâ for a few that were previously on scholarship deals and then extended (Gus was one, for sure).
Which is what we should be doing with as many of our best prospects on the cusp of first team football as possible, so we end up with less Seggy situations.

Not bad to have a bit of depth there and a promising young player for a few years from now who we can work into the squad gradually. I assume heâd be on roughly minimum wage at this point so the risk is pretty low.
Callum Talbot is not extending his City contract and now a free agent.
Definitely need other positions more (CB, DM?, CF etc) but if weâre looking to Grant more as CB, he could cover the fullback positions.

I wouldnât assume weâve switched to a back 3/5.
Everything theyâve said so far has been along the lines of - Talay has been building and that takes time. That usually wouldnât involve randomly switching to a completely different tactical plan midway through that development.
If we do start next season with a back 3/5 it will be simple proof that the late and post season talk is just hot air.
