ALM Squad Speculation Thread 2024/25 (Part 2)

Pretty sure it was going to be until Costa arrived and everything changed. Anas started well, all his best ALM games were pre-Xmas when Costa was out with the hammy, and I remember clearly the away game in Gosford (pre-HDM brain explosion) where it was clear Dougie would be running the show and Ouahim was the one who’d be shafted the most.

Doubt the club would have set conditions on letting him go, especially if it’s for family. Mental that he lived and played here while the son was in Germany

Bit of a bummer.

Loved watching him play, and others have put great points forward about him. I’d add that he probably lacked the physicality this league loves and so refs allowed knuckle draggers to kick lumps out of him and let it go. Might have worked well alongside a prime O’Neill or Brilliante.

Yeah, I think if he played for someone like the Mariners who could do exactly that he would have been fun to watch.

Now there’s a gaping hole.

Would be happy at least if he went here, seeing he has to go. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/portsmouth-keen-on-taking-advantage-of-european-transfer-collapse-for-sydney-fc-adrian-segecic/

Not a bad move really. There are a few Aussies already there like Matthew’s which might help him settle in. I’d imagine he would be good enough for the Championship. Also I will have an excuse to get Bein again to watch all his matches, Win/Win

Do we still get a training compensation fee from the next club he signs for, or is that only of we haven’t released him?

Depends how long Segecic has been at our club. I suspect the answer is yes, though.

We would also get training compensation if he is subsequently transferred before the end of the season of his 23rd birthday (Jan 2027 is probably the latest we can be applicable for this).

Joined U13s in 2017.

Then we’re entitled to the full whammy the second he registers in a foreign league for the first time.

Does that pay for an AFC seafood platter?

Anyone know the status of Matthias Macallister? I thought we’d signed him on a scholarship deal but couldn’t find the article when I went back to review?

Calver is a free agent again…

Irankunda looks to have been loan listed. Wouldn’t be the worst.

We can ask, but surely Irankunda will be staying in Europe for this season at least. Another crack in Switzerland or a similar level could be helpful for him.
