The problem is that we probably donāt have a lot of good options at RB right now. Atkinson has been injured for much of the campaign. Karacic has been without a club all season. Grant is physically past his best (although has improved recently).
Miller has been playing regularly with Hibs. Iād be pretty surprised if he couldnāt provide at least what Jones hasā¦ but with some extra pace and intensity. Hasnāt seen a minute.

A pity Atkinson hasnāt shown much since he left the A-League.
Miller doesnāt mind a physical contest either

Watching Souttar scurry around midfield harrying players is quite entertaining. He just chased a guy and tackled himā¦ and somehow Irvine crawled out from underneath him after the tackle. I didnāt even see him go in!
44 league appearances, 2 goals in a season and a half isnāt anything to sneeze at.
I meant for the socceroos but fair. A run of games in the team probably wouldnāt hurt.

At least we created an opening. We havenāt really looked likely to do that in the second half. To be fair, neither have Indonesia.

Now is his opportunity. If heās fit, personally I donāt think anyone is going to mind dropping Jones. Aside from the assist this evening, heās been shown up against every team weāve come up against this season (inc. the friendly against Bahrain), and has nearly gotten himself stupidly sent off.
I know weāre thin in the position courtesy of injuries and lack of players playing a lot of meaningful club minutes, but Jones smacks of a desperate stopgap.
Itās nice that Arnoldās done his homework and managed to get him in during desperate times, but I would like to think he wonāt be a regular member of the national team set up.
I say that, as somebody (and I dare 99% of Australian football fans - most had no idea who he was when the squad was announced) who has never seen Jones play at club level.

The Uzbek game was a great chance but he was really flat and (surprisingly to me) quite poor with the ball. That said he certainly wasnāt any worse than Jones in any case.

What was Goodwins injury? I wonder if he was carrying something in that first match because his dead ball delivery was awful. That one was more what you expect. Lovely.
A goal and an assist in about four minutes from Goodwin. Not bad for a cameo.
As reasonably expected, Indonesia have looked pretty gassed in the last half an hour. Theyāve done credit to themselves, though. 4-0 is a pretty harsh scoreline.
