We’ve mostly been…… not great…. But that cross and header was delightful. Did well to stay inside too, see plenty of those where they stray off
Still feels like we’ve got a bit of a “quality on the ball” gap in midfield that needs filling. Feels even bigger since Mooy left. Baccus has done really well to step up at times - especially off the bench at the world cup - but just doesn’t have the quality Mooy had and that makes the deficit bigger.
The wide forwards have shown it in fits and starts but not consistently for periods.
It’s because there’s not really anyone technically good enough and creative enough to control the game in possession. Baccus isn’t that sort of player, either. He’s okay in possession but he’s not going to unlock a defence, nor should he be asked to. McGree is probably the closest in the lineup to being able to make meaningful creative contributions.

The best way to watch 5-set tennis is to tune in at the tailend of the last set.

For sure. It’s just that each time you take out a bit of class like that it makes us less in the aggregate. Fewer quality chances. Fewer goals. More grindy.
To be fair, male Tennis players sound like they’re being whacked in the nuts every time they hit the ball.
Female Tennis players sound like they’re trying to compete with PornHub’s finest.
