Unless you’re trying to give Kuol time to settle into club football I’m not sure why you’d take Tilio (isn’t playing any first team football) over him. Particularly as an off the bench option.

Anybody (besides Arnie) been tracking Iredales form? That seems a pretty big call
Mabil is playing in Switzerland. I’d probably have taken him over Tilio but I think Tilio won’t have more than a bit part role, anyway. You’d think Goodwin and Boyle are nailed on to be the starting wingers for the key games. Silvera and Tilio would be backup. Yengi can also play on the left. Not sure if Iredale can play wide, but I’m guessing he’s more of a target man.
Maynard-Brewer also hard done by, to be honest. Gauci has hardly been stellar for Adelaide. At least he didn’t pick Redmayne, I guess.

Been mentioned a lot of the younger players who would have been called up as squad players for this have not been picked to protect the relationships for the clubs for when theyre picked to play for Olyroos.
And according to transfermarkt, Mabil is injured.
He’s got 4 in 7. Their last game against Mumbai was a 2-1 loss with 7 reds. The game also included Royston Griffiths, Brendan Hammill and Dimitri Petratos.

So, you are so out of sorts with Redders that you’d rather have him competing with Pavlesic at Sydney FC for the GK spot from mid-late January than warming the bench for the Roos? Do the Roos benefit from not having him on the bench? Do you benefit from having him available for the club?
Thomas’ reward for being called “the best A-league keeper of the past 2 years” by Arnie is to sit on the bench and miss potentially a month of league games. I don’t mind if Wanderers are missing their best player.

We keep of Redders or Pava through January while Wanderers and Adelaide lose Thomas and Gauci in favour of bench warming in Qatar.
I don’t think a nearly 35YO Redmayne needs to worry about his legacy with the Socceroos. Not bad for a substitute.

TM has Karacic as a free agent, and Hrustic with only 6 appearances this season. Hard to argue with any of these to be honest. The squad notes from Arnie also add some context, saying Genreau is injured and Robertson and Circati were left alone so they could play the Olympic qualifiers.
Only the inclusion of Tilio is a weird one. Arnie basically says he’s there to “get a smile on his face” and improve his fitness for the Olympic qualifiers after barely featuring for Celtic. Surely Kuol or Irankunda or someone is more deserving?

Yes… yes they do… they can give it to a young up and coming keeper rather than an older keeper who’s on the slide…
Tilio/Kuol/Irankunda…. It’s basically a squad position who will barely play or not at all, Kuol and Irankunda are getting minutes for their clubs makes sense to just let them hold their spots,
Yeah fair enough. I just think Arnie undermines himself when for some players, not getting minutes at club level means not getting selected, and for others it means selection and a helping hand.
