Australian Professional Leagues - They can't be worse than the FFA... can they?

If you know how to wear an eye patch, you’re hired!

Pretty sure you’re gonna have to change clubs if you’re gonna get all nautical

The APL have now officially acknowledged the rule change.

Would they have if a random Wellington fan didn’t notice?

Random Wellington fan was able to notice because the new rules were published by the league no?

Yeh the while thing is stupid.

They didn’t tell anyone! Well no, they posted the competition rules for everyone to see…

Their own published tables have been incorrect up until now too.
Never a dull moment.

But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’.

Meh.

Tie breakers are irrelevant until the end of the season.

Australian sokkah fans are such whiny cunts that we deserve all of the failure we’re getting.

Us rising a spot and Victory dropping from top. :lizard:

This whole thing is a great illustration that we need some matches on the telly at this point. Everyone is clearly bored and looking for something to do if they’re so emotional about this most likely irrelevant change.

Bollocks.

What we need is a 15 part series on Portugese Chicken.

PCC vs Silvas
Ole vs Ogalo
Oporto vs Nandos.

The winner can take on the winner of El Jennah vs Orrico to determine THE GRAND CHAMPION OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN WARS!

You know you’d rather that.

You trying to find someone to buy Tony Sage out?

No, we’re trying to justify buying a surplus Navy ship.

I start the bidding at $0.50

So apparently the club championship is still decided on goal difference…

So the mens (and I assume the womens team) who wins the league could theoretically lose the club championship on goal difference.

… and?

If anything it’s nice to have an orthogonal set of rules to marginally discourage gaming the system toward one ruleset.

And in the incredibly unlikely scenario that a team did finish second in both ALM and ALW by number of wins to the same rival after finishing level of points, and despite having a better goal difference, then I don’t take much issue with them having their season recognised by the Club Championship.

Nobody is going to kick over trashcans in the street over this Club Championship thing. Those people would kick them over because they wanted to kick them over.
