It was partners couldn’t share a room if i recall correctly.
And I don’t have an issue with that. The players on the 1989 Ashes tour weren’t allowed to have their partners with them either. It’s a very, very standard thing.
Should that change just because you’re partner is part of the same squad?
From memory there were a couple in the squad who had broken up and one of the couple had started seeing someone else in the squad. Then there were issues with certain groups within the team who were trying to overrule the coach. I mean, there must be massive anxiety problems if it went as far as it did.
Staj being sacked for trying to implement professional standards is still completely wrong I think. Of course co-workers hooking up on work duties happens but if found out there is usually disciplinary action taken. I expect no less if not even higher standards for professionals representing my country. Should the industry of profession matter when representing your country whether it is sport or politics for example?
