Australian Women’s National Team Thread - Our best chance at a World Cup

The people who started and continued this disgraceful “culture” should be given no mercy whatsoever. Only then can the women’s game begin to heal from this.

Some more details here.

I had suspected it might be lesbian grooming/harassment.

Also very interesting more info about the Alen Stacic dismissal is emerging.

So Staj basically got sacked for trying to improve things it sounds like? Hope he got a decent payout

That’s completely, totally and utterly fucked & as someone with two daughters makes my skin crawl.

I’d like to hear from Sarah Walsh who is the over arching head of women’s football for the FA, certainly considering her time and experience within the Australian football setup she may have some thoughts on this whole shameful episode.

Staj comes out of this very well. Poor bloke. Imagine being treated like that so publicly amd not being able to say anything.

And it makes the “if you knew what I knew crowd” either lying or incredibly stupid.

‘Q’ – a pseudonym for a person closely tied to women’s football in Australia

That’s a REALLY unfortunate choice of pseudonym from either the author or the individual, and somewhat undermines a serious issue.

My exact thoughts when I read that.

G’day viewers, I’m Jacob, the founder of Left Right Out . Based in Newcastle, I’m currently completely my Year 12 study, then I’ll be on my way to university. On top of this blog, I also run an Instagram page – @npl.football.

Teenage kid being taken for a ride by random trolly internet stranger trying to stir some trouble?

I have heard exactly those allegations from people inside administration, including Staj trying to fix the culture. It absolutely sickens me. I can’t help but feel there is a double standard going on here too. Imagine if it was a group within a men’s team systemically sexually assaulting other young men coming in? For mine, this - or allowing this to happen, is no different from seedy guys in vans promising lollies, sporting coaches, or Hillsong clergy. Allegedly.

Tracy Holmes has been very conspicuous in her silence. Now would probably be the ideal time to let everyone know exactly what it was that she was privy to in the Staj sacking affair.
Heather Reid & Michelle Hayman have a lot of questions to answer as well.

Lucy Zelic as well

Emma Highwood should still have questions to answer also (she snuck out of FFA 2 years ago).

Don’t forget Maria Berry (the alleged “Lynda Taylor”) and that other bird that worked for both FFA and OurWatch. Anyone heard from them either?

I have a feeling that some of those incidents alluded to by LdV and “Q” happened at Sydney. Kyah Simon and Alannah Kennedy were in a relationship and had both previously played at WSW - part of the package deal - and were both in the national setup at the time. De Vanna came into the Sydney squad for the last year that Kennedy and Simon were in the squad. If true, sad that the club would submit to those sort of demands / quietly make the problem go away.

Interesting also that Simon is now in a relationship with Carpenter. Both players missed the game v Ireland, the official reason was that they were being “managed” by Gustavsson.

Not sure about a Sydney connection (hope not, though it’s equally shit anywhere). From what I’ve read most of LdV’s issues seem to pre-date her time at Sydney and surround the national team environment.

That specific package deal mentioned by Q also indicates one player was only signed for that reason… any dub club would’ve been stoked to sign Kyah or Alannah so their relationship wouldn’t have played a part in any decision to sign them. I would think more likely to be something like Perth signing Nikki Stanton in order to get Sam Kerr on board.

I’ve also seen a random twitter account (so sauce most definitely not verified) alleging that Kerr and Foord hazed Mary Fowler. That would be fairly recent if it did happen, see posts by @VPeritus and join the dots.

Holy shit! I think I’ve figured out who @vperitus might be.

De Vanna was brave to speak up but something needs to be done now.

I think it’s safe to assume that they’re not Sam Kerr or Heather Garriock!

I had a suspicion based on their bio and who they follow, but the location threw me off and made me think of an associate of theirs.

Lo and behold Vox Peritus P/L is now de-registered, but appears to have been a book publisher with one particular title bringing up both names. What are the chances?

A company named Vox Peritus Pty Ltd ran the Brisbane Strikers website in 1997…
