Bellerive is a great stadium, absolutely nothing shit about it.
There are definitely better options that North Hobart Oval for a football match, however. KGV Park - which is actually rectangular and has a 4k capacity - should probably be top of the list.
Tbf fans have been asking for earlier kick offs in these intra-state away games for years and it’s nice to see it happening. But yes the heat is a problem.
I couldn’t spot a 23-24 Fixtures thread, so I figured this was the best place for this:
Looks like our original Round 12 fixture away to Perth - which got moved due to the Unite Round - now has a new date and time. It’s scheduled for 9:45pm AEST on wednesday the 3rd of April.
On the same topic, a question for all you peeps who have made the trip over to Perth Rectangular stadium or whatever it’s called these days. Is it much of a mission to get to the stadium from the centre of Perth by public transport ? Or is a job for Mr Uber?
Thinking of heading over this season if I can
Suppose it depends exactly where you’re staying but last time I just walked from the CBD, wasn’t far at all, maybe a 15 minute walk. Or otherwise there’s a train stop right near the stadium that’s 1-2 stops from their central station. Should be very easy to get to via public transport.
Closest train station is East Perth Station but there are no pre match festivities around there.
Better to get off the train at Claisebrook Station and have something to eat and drink at Bright Tank Brewing Co on Brown Street East Perth or the Royal on The Waterfront. They are about 20 minutes walk to the stadium.
Let me know if you want any other suggestions for a trip over here.
Haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere, just noticed on my auto-subscribed SFC calendar so went and checked it… our away game at Macarthur has been moved from Sunday 21st to Saturday 20th April.
I’ll have to content myself with the glorious sounds of 78 Saab instead of the awful din of cowbells.
