Late afternoon games absolutely make sense if it’s a school night.
Hope anyone with Welly away plans hasn’t gone too far down that road — the game has been moved to Eden Park, Auckland:
and I was hoping to hit the bars of Wellington for the first time in ages.
Booo
Shambolic. Never mind Covid, felt like the first time in ages we’d been drawn there outside the hectic / insanely expensive Xmas period too.
I’m just lucky I’ve been slack and not booked anything yet expect my leave.
Had this one circled. Disappointed it’s not in Wellington but I’m still going to try and get over for it.
Also just noticed in the article that the time of the SFS Xmas Eve matches have been confirmed:
Women vs WSW @ 2.20pm
Men vs Macarthur @ 5pm
Not as excited to go to Auckland, bummer.
It’s looking likely that the away game against Western United on the 21st of January might be taking place in Hobart.
Clarence Zebras (NPL Tas side) have leaked that WU are set to announce they’re hosting games in Hobart in January, and we’re WU’s only ‘location TBA’ fixture that month.
It’s now confirmed that the Western United vs Sydney game on the 21st of Jan will be at North Hobart Oval:
Intriguing…
And they just change their name to Tasmania United and pretend theyve always been there.
It’s like Bellrieve Oval, but even shittier.
Should have just played it at Darcey Street, home of South Hobart. More quaint, more picturesque, and even thopugh it only holds apparently 4,000 it still won’t come close to selling out.
Intriguingly intriguing.
And the next day is Sunday and it’s about a ten minute walk from that ground to donuts on Sunday …
A 1-1 draw in a friendly against Victory in the 2014 pre-season according to sfcstatistics.com. Match 91 here.
