Fowler is apparently due in town at the end of the month. Expecting a flurry of signings at that time. Things have been happening behind the scenes but no leaks so far!

Also linked to Adam Amadi-Holloway. Listed as a striker with 2 in 30 in league one. Either Fowlers scouting is brilliant and the league isn’t that good or all of these league one/two signings are disappointing and Fowlers our after a season or less

From the outside it looks like he thinks HAL = League 2/1. Hope they get torn apart. NZ Knights went well.
I cant image Fowler is underestimating the league that much - he did play here for 3 or 4 seasons, yes the league has improved since, but he would have a pretty good understanding of the standard I think.
Maybe be really believes that league to be of that level - maybe he is right…
He is right, well of teams generally from 5th/6th place onwards.
So I guess their fight to scrape into 6th begins!

Yup, spot on. Other teams are getting far better pedigree with foreign signings - Championship, Eredivisie, even Bundesliga or La Liga in some cases - so he’d better be really good at picking out players who are either better at their level or an exceptional fit for the conditions/circumstances or his gameplan.

Few posts up i backed him as manager saying he should get the league but other than ONeill none of them would interest us (the benchmark).
I guess he’s probably relying on his personal connections for these players so I guess it makes sense.
No doubt… I would have thought that the benefit of having an inexperienced coach but with a big name was that their connections were above League 1 and League 2. Probably could have hired and experience League 1 or League 2 coach if this is the outcome.
Otherwise, have an inexperienced coach who is local…

Fowler’s definitely not setting the world on fire with the names we’re signing but for me it’ll be very interesting to see what the of football he’s gonna get us to play.
Early hint - flat 4 - 4 - 2 with 2 holders in the middle, fullbacks who sit back and a big man/small man combo at front.
His coaching license was in 3 at the back. Can’t remember if it was 343 or 352
