At dinner with my new girlfriend’s parents and they started talking about how Bolsonaro was taking hydroxychloroquine on the recommendation of Donald Trump and he was cured within 12 hours.
Now we’re trying to workout which crackpot news site they got that from or whether it was some secondhand news shared on their church’s Facebook group. I would laugh about this more except the father has a suppressed immune system and is considered high risk of infection.

The fact that Bolsonaro is taking the stuff is definitely not in doubt. The fact that Bolsonaro is a liar and fool to a degree that puts even Trump to shame is also not in doubt. Of course he’s going to say that garbage, when he has access to the highest quality healthcare that almost nobody else in Brazil could come close to having access to. He’ll still lay credit on the unrelated medication.
