Is that how much beer costs now?

I’ve stopped stocking up on beer at home. Used to drink a can/stubby 3-4 days a week but now aim to drink a good quality beer once or twice a month when I’m out.

Beers used to be $3.20 for a schooner down at the services club.

The good old days were going to the services club all afternoon, drinking $3 beers, playing snooker and then hitting the pub to shark pool for free drinks.

3.20?

They we’re $2.50 at the Grand View in 1994.

I’m keeping it in the 21st century.

You cant have an old man rant constricted to the 21st century.

When I was in Bosnia in 2010 there was a bar that was recommended to us by the people at the hostel. For 5 Marks, roughly $2.50AUD, you could have all you could drink spirits. You had to pay extra if you wanted a mixer and they expected you to bring your glass back to the bar when you finished your drink.
I think I was drunk for a week after going there.

Polish Club Ashfield was still doing $5 half liter Polish beers and $5 mixers with high end vodka well into 2015

Does paint stripper really count?

I love that that joint has aged with me, from sticky carpets in my 20’s, morphing into a darts bar in my 40’s.

Ahh Bar Century. So much nostalgia. Getting tanked on those $3 drinks, before going to Tank bar.

I remember in my 20s a Friday night out used to end up in the Paradise Club at the Cross at 2am listening to excellent Jazz music and thinking that being charged $1 for a can of beer was a rip off.
