Pat Wood is exactly who I was thinking of there haha

Zdrilla is gone.
Not great, be interesting to see how talay goes without him
Bummer, but it’s not like Talay doesn’t have a pretty good track record before working with Zdrilic.
Hopefully he took some notes on the pressing game.
Did Talay’s teams at Wellington employ a high press like this? I can’t say I recall ever seeing it. I distinctly remember his teams being really bipolar over there. If they weren’t quite on it, they got thumped.
Not really. They played Arnie ball.
Yeah it’ll be interesting to see how Zdrillic goes over there. Perth would genuinely have a bit less support. Theyve been singing a fair few players this offseason already (O’Neill, Risdon, Hamzaoui, Gomulka, Pennington) so dont think theyve got much if any cap space or squad spaces to work with which feels bit of a waste as I’d imagine Zdrillic would have had some good connections.
Still think we should have gone Zdrillic over Talay so lets see how it plays out- hope both do really well next season
He did great with Wellington and they were playing a high press with them
They’ve still got a heap of cap space.
Daryl Lachman, Alex Susnjar, Mark Beevers, Bruce Kamau, Salim Khelifi and Aaron McEneff have all left so there is plenty of money to spend.
A touch worried a large part of our current success is due to David.
I never thought we’d keep him for long given he’s got a better CV than most emerging Australian coaches and he was credited with a lot of our success. He helped give us some fun football though.
I think we’re about to learn how flexible Uffy is though. If he goes back to Arnie ball then we know it was Zdrillic driving things but if Uffy is flexible we may maintain the high pressing and also possibly find a third way or middle ground. Big moment for Uffy.
I wonder which SFC alum steps up into that role now?
Going through the list of coaches for next season only 4 head coaches have not been at Sydney FC at some point in their career- Veart, Kisnorbo, Jackson and Sterjovski
I’d say Uffy has taken points from last season and grown as a manager. We’ll probably have joint Arnold/Zdrillic with Uffy’s own take mixed in.
Exciting if anything. Press for most, but able to defend when needed. A good balance.
He didnt exactly play Arnold ball in any of his previous coaching gigs, so why would he revert back to a style he doesnt play?
Starting at Wellington it was more Arnie than high press.
I mean I might be wrong but I don’t remember him starting out with this style.
Talay without Zdrilla. Time will tell…
He did fine in Wellington
Talay out?
Don’t Blame Me, I Voted for Zdrilić.
