Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Zdrilić: The Ufuk Talay Thread

I’ll refer you to the original comment I made that kicked off the Corica defenders.

So when will Wests make their inevitable move for him?

Crazy that the license in Asia isn’t recognised in Europe. Talk about Eurosnobs. It’s football not medicine

It’s not snobbery.

It’s cartel behavior and rac …

I assumed that was Rudan already publicly courting him last week.

Courting his replacement? Can’t see him moving for another assistant gig.

I assumed for assistant, it’s still staggering that JP is back there in that role after last time and wouldn’t at all be surprised if he’s sniping away again.

Well he does have the best winning percentage of all of their managers…

Wiki says Popa, but fuck me, that’s a dismal list of winning percentages.

I miss Carl Robinson. :frowning:

Kenny Miller went 1 for 1 iirc, for a while he was the only manager with a better winning percentage than… Steve Corica.

Interesting we’re now top of the expected goal difference chart. Massive change thanks to Uffie.

I like this bit.

An overall takeaway from this data is that, as Alen Stajčić said during the week, the A-League is a very even league. The variance of these numbers is very low. Two of the teams performing worst, based on this data, are first and third on the table.

Or you know, xG is still a load of wank.

I thought our xG was pretty good under Corica. The difference was we weren’t taking our chances a lot of the time. We’re a bit more clinical under Talay.

We actually convert penalties now

Nonono, we just also need a metric for xGC (goals conceded). Then the bookies will be so happy, the game can be fully played on a simulator like those godawful ones in the TAB.

What that shows is that the teams performing well on xG but not on the table are inefficient and not finishing chances they should be, and the clubs that are not performing well on the xG rankings but are good on the table are performing efficiently and scoring the harder chances they get.

How many points do you get for this xG shit?

Does xG take into account being bang average?

Just say your’re Pat Wood, with an open shot on your left foot whilst you’re moving at a bit of speed.

Is that more or less xG then if he had it on his right?

What if his laces are worn out and don’t grip as well and he’s got a bit of a belly thing because he ate at PCC instead of Silvas last night?
