I think I got my pair about 4 years ago. They’re comfortable enough, just the moment you do a big walk they really start to rub

They opened a store in London a few years back, I was shocked at how much the quality has gone down hill.
Don’t think they were ever designed to do 17k steps per day.
This. They have a number of different lines, too. Most people (city slickers) buy the “Craftsman” which is a dress boot. Definitely not made for walking (nor working for that matter).
Yeah I got caught in this trap, and really the salesman should have told me as well. The surface was worn out in less than a year. They wanted to charge me an exorbitant amount to repair them. After what they cost me to buy in the first place they can fuck off. Got the local shoe repair man to put a new sole on for me. Never again
Rubber sole > leather sole.
They are okay boots, not worth the $$ but there isn’t much else around that looks as good (at least in the pull up leather - pretty happy most of the office drones just get the standard black/brown).
Keep an eye on ALDI, they put out good boots occasionally lol
Shout out to Dr Martens who also charge ridiculous amounts for inferior quality footwear, definitely not the same quality as the ones I bought as a teenager all those years ago.
My wife stills has dr martens boots from when she was a teenager, which is a lot of years now.
I had a pair I used as my school shoes from year 7-12 (normally you’d go through 1-2 pairs a year), they were from my uncle who wore them for 25-30 years beforehand. They were exceptional quality the original ones. Quality these days is absolutely terrible, I know people who have bought them, only for them to break after a few months.
Apparently solovair used to make the boots for Dr Martins before the new owners decimated the brand and make their own still in England. May be worth looking up reviews to see if they are the real deal as I’ve seen some conflicting reports.
Constant reminders I am getting older.
The latest one being the news that Ellyse Perry is 33 years old now.
Since it’s foot ware talk, anyone have any good experiences for wide middle feet shoes to ware basically for 10 hours a day? As in up and about all day. Only with a lunch break in between.
Not sure what style you want, but I find All-Birds to be good. I’m a Year 1 teacher so I’m on my feet all day and they definitely do the job.
I have Blundstones as my normal work shoe. My previous pair, I wore for 4 years and they were comfortable as all hell. Wearing them essentially 5 days a week, 9 hours a day and they never had an issues apart from having to change the insole. I even managed to get acid on them and they were still good.
LinkedIn… when did it become such a load of such self indulgent wank?
“I am just back from some much needed ‘R&R’ in Africa on safari, and saw the most amazing creatures. Here is what I learned about corporate leadership from a herd of elephants”
People have the misguided understanding that recruiting managers trawl through all the bullshit they post on linkedin, instead of what really happens, which is a quick review of the resume, a quick check on linkedin that they are who they are and then interviews.
My favourite was the dude that used his proposal to highlight business sales techniques. What a catch she got herself there.
It’s a cesspool of morons and wannabe corporate influencers.
I find the more someone posts on there, the more deluded and out of touch they are with reality.
Not to mention if you have that much spare time during business hours to post utter nonsense - what the fuck are you actually being paid for?
