First gear lubrication on the new forum

NHS mate, Tories have fucked it over for 12 years :frowning:

To be fair I went to a specialist and paid out of pocket for it all except the surgery so we’re no fucking better!

my physio got me to do single leg squats and both legs I could barely do anything. I’ve had the knee pain for years though, it gets worse with any heavy running but a telling one for me, was walking up and down the stairs, always pain but no swelling. Without being an expert, I’d suggest that swelling could mean something else rather than an badly positioned kneecap. It would sort of go away once I warmed the knees up.

I still can’t believe the difference though. Tape has been on for 3 days and I’m still completely fine. It’s literally been decades since i’ve been able to use stairs or do any type of squats with no pain.

Yep - irritating pain… hurts walking on downward slopes more than anything else?

I am pain free 95% of the time, and everytime i think i am good to come back, i twist/tweak or hurt it somehow and i am back to square one…

I had a few years football layoff and started back with Futsal (synthetic pitch) about 2 years ago. Despite me going to the gym and running 3-5 times a week my second game in and I had a partial miniscus tear. Nothing really prepares you for those jarring short sprints and direction changes when you get to a certain age.

Playing 11 a side now and my legs have never felt more stiff. I’m putting a real effort into stretching, activations and foam rolling but I dunno if I’ve got another season in me after this. Hate not being able to squat down to play with the kids without making dad grunts.

Finally bit the bullet and saw a physio as my knee issue wasn’t getting any better at all. Good news is there isn’t any tear or tendon/ligament damage and I’ve just hyperextended my knee which has caused lots of nerve damage, which in turn has caused all the swelling and pain.

One of my workmates went out to dinner last night with her friend who is absolutely loaded. Between 3 people they spent over $1,000 on dinner (what financial crisis???) and ordered a couple of lobster dishes, which they didn’t eat.

So she’s brought in about $600 worth of lobster to work today. Getting a free lobster lunch today (and I’ll probably take some home for dinner too…)

If you like Lobster, head over to Haba Ocean in Haberfield. We had a few different dishes and they were amazing! Plus not ridiculously pricy. Really really nice Chinese food and surprisingly enough, it’s lasted a few years despite being in Haberfield. The owner of the restaurant owns one of the fish shops in Sydney Fish Markets. Apparently she owns the property and couldn’t find anyone to rent it, so she just went out and opened her own restaurant.

I do like Lobster, but eat it so rarely (mostly because of price).

I’m basically getting lobster for free today.

I feel like an AFC Representative

Edit: It was delicious!

I am, funnily enough. Although it’s clipped to my belt.

Didn’t want to be getting those garlicy, buttery, lobster juices all over it.

Did you have to remove or cover up any visible brand names or unsanctioned advertising signage before consuming?

A good strong coffee at 4am on a night shift.
This whole hospital thing can be pretty tiring.

AP Bread opening in Barrack Lane and 50m from my office.

FMD. Everything is sensational.

Yeah I have nothing other than wins from there. Bought a carrot cake to have whilst the kids were at the park… Got swooped by a magpie and dropped it all over the ground. Still one of the saddest days of my life.

Bought a blue Fila track jacket from Amazon along with some tracky daks on Thursday, trackydaks delivered yesterday but both items marked as delivered, I complained, got a refund, ordered another of the same jacket but in black instead of blue. This morning the blue one shows up and tracking says the black one is due later today.

I have no moral quandry and a free Fila jacket

YouTube a 50 sec video instead of driving myself crazy for an hour before giving up

Five minutes ago I got my clothes off the line, just opened up the place for air to cycle through the back to front door, and it just started raining. Dry clothes and fresh rain scented air. Gears lubricated.

Bit of a nice feel good story. We had to go into emergency at Westmead with the 5 month old on Tuesday evening. Couldn’t organise the grandparents fast enough, so we had to bring the oldest with us. Ridiculously stressful for us as it’s the first time we’ve had to go for a proper emergency. Was sitting in the café outside with my oldest and a lady walked up with a huge bunch of flowers, left it on my table and told me “it looks like you could use it.” Still have no clue who she was, but was a really lovely thing to do. Ended up giving it to the hospital staff.
