Is it just me or is this least excited vibe in the lead up to a grand final? Os the novelty wearing off or something?
That’s so true. If MelbV had had the run and success we’ve had over the last 5-6 years the superlatives from pundits would be flowing like Niagara Falls. But not for Sydney.
Fuck em all I guess. We gots the trophies!!
I think the fact that we don’t know the venue yet is part of this because none of us really know if we can get to the game or not.
As said above, it’s presumably the lack of venue. I think there’s also the late time of the year; I personally struggle to get too excited to be heading out when it’s this cold and it just doesn’t feel right to be having the grand final in the middle of winter. There’s probably also something to be said for looking forward to next season and a new broadcaster, so there’s a real feeling of winding down the Fox contract.
Thats what I think - the buzz starts with the dash to get flights and tickets etc… I remember in 2010 the scramble to get online very hungover to get tickets was what created the excitement!
You don’t even have to look at round ball for an example. Consider the way the media talks about Melbourne Storm’s success in the NRL to ours.
I’m waiting for Parra to get announced so I can look for somewhere interesting to eat pregame.
It’s hard to get excited with a lack of venue and considering the possibilities of either having to self-quarantine in Melbourne or having to deal with the repercussions of it being moved here. I also think genuinely many are exhausted with the type of season it’s been with all the various state (mostly Victoria) outbreaks and the postponements, and we’re about a year and a half into COVID. Everybody is tired.
Fuck that. Another Grand Final. I’m definitely excited.
How’s Ninko looking? It was a bit concerning in Corica’s post match interview when he said he couldn’t train at all last week & is only being given this week to get fit. Hope he’s OK.
There was something on Instagram the other day showing him doing some leg weights as part of recovery so fingers crossed.
Honestly it is getting pretty boring at this point.
I’d have been disappointed if we didn’t make the GF and I expect that we win it.
At the same time, if we don’t, we probably will next year…
There’s no real stakes.
Success….what a pain in the arse huh.
Goo, because we’re winning too often?
Reverse goo
[Danny Townsend]: [turns off the mirror disguise in the window] You kids don’t know what you want. That’s why you’re still kids, 'cause you’re stupid. Just tell me what’s wrong with Sydney FC!
How did this forum go from “We’ve been in decline for two years.” to “Success is getting boring.” in a matter of months?
If this is accurate I’m guessing Aami will get it after all. 50% would I think be acceptable to the decision makers. It’s not like there’s any guarantee we’d be getting 30k to Parramatta at this stage of the year, with the short notice, Covid still around, low key season etc.
If only you knew how normal this is, this forum veers from position to position like a b-double trailer truck being driven down an Italian alpine road in midwinter by a troupe of amphetamine-jacked monkeys who’ve just spotted a banana factory at the bottom of the mountain.
There is no logic, there’s just us.
Never change, SFCU!
