I got Hoop Dreams coach - The NBA thread

Watching Adelaide v Cairns at the moment.

Adelaide down 19 just before half, got it back to level to take it to OT, and now up 6…

Montrez Harrell, having recently decided to extend his short term contract for the rest of the season, with 36 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks.

He has been an absolute monster this season and would have to be a short favourite for MVP now he’s staying for the full season.

It is wild seeing a Bucks side with Dame and Giannis sitting 1-5…

On the NBL front, big win from Sydney after dropping a couple of games over the last week or two.

This dunk from Cam Oliver…

I think this might be the end of Ingles in the NBA.

Had been getting 5 minutes or so throughout the game for the Wolves, but not really contributing much on the court, but now isn’t even coming on in garbage time…

I hope we keep him around because we have alot of young guys trying to get minutes and he’d be an amazing mentor (plus he’s on a A$4.9m contract), but I can’t see him getting many more minutes on an NBA court…

Also, the East is rubbish…

11 teams in the West are .500+, while only 4 in the East are…

A 25-13 final quarter for the Kings gives them a comeback 74-69 win over South East Melbourne.

Double/double for X and this monster block by Noi.

And as expected - Jimmy Butler is out for the Miami trip to play Minnesota.

I hate that I agree with Stephen A on this, because he is a giant fuckwit, but he’s right - the players have been taking the absolute piss out of the All-Star game. I don’t think Adam Silver had much choice.

Also, KAT returns to Minnesota tomorrow for the first time since we traded him.

I like the idea of mixing it up… the all star game is the worst thing about the all start weekend at the moment.

Curious as to how the teams of 8 are selected… but assume they’ll go east/west/international/rising stars?

From my understanding, there will be a pool of players selected via the All Star Vote, then Shaq, Barkley and Kenny will draft the teams, then a 4th will be rising stars…

16,705 in attendance for Sydney Kings v Tasmania earlier this afternoon.

Biggest crowd since G5 of the 22/23 GF series and biggest regular season crowd since 2018…

Kings sit 3rd on the ladder, a couple of wins behind the top 2.

Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal are the worst trades in the history of the universe.

Dallas just made the dumbest trade since Phoenix traded for KD and max contract 3rd option Beal.

Fuck just read this. Makes very little sense for Dallas or luka. Without Davis the lakers aren’t going to be a title challenging team so he doesn’t gain, aside from being in LA

Odd on all fronts

It looks like Dallas have given up on Luka ever taking conditioning seriously.

But then they just sold him to LA out of the boot of the car instead of taking him to market.

Spurs probably would have given them 5 firsts.

Spurs gave up 3/5s of fuck all and got De’Aaron Fox.

And no one wants to trade for a super max 3rd option with a NTC who only wants to play in places that don’t snow …

Jimmy Butler to the Warriors

I look forward to seeing how General Soreness can fuck up another contract…

I am now scared shitless that GS trades Butler for KD.

KD is a lazy, stoned, basketballer who just wants to shoot hoops. Jimmy is a driven, demented, demon. When he’s on.

But Houston aren’t giving us back out picks for Jimmy.

INgram to Toronto and the fucking lakers got a centre.

THis is an interesting breakdown on the old school vs modern NBA drama.
