Well they’ve been selling land from the west bank in the US, systems already set up.

That’s sound a little Lebensraum to me. Or is it anti-Semitic to say that

Some speculation here as to what Trump actually wants to happen. Pressure on the Arab states to fund reconstruction of Gaza instead of western aid as has traditionally happened is my best guess.

Israel is tech heavy but light on troop numbers, so they don’t really have the capacity to force every last resident of Gaza into trucks or ships or whatever. Trump has said no US troops on the ground, so it’s probably not going to happen.

That makes sense. In a Venn diagram with that senile mad fucker just saying shit that flashes into his consciousness.

They have 520,000 armed forces (including reserves) and can call up, up to 1,000,000 more if they wanted to. That’s not a small amount, especially considering the small area that is the Gaza strip. They’re also very much up against a mainly civilian population that’s not exactly being supplied with weaponry by any major players, or in any major numbers. Conservative estimates in Ukraine indicate that Russia could occupy the country (after the war) with 300,000 troops or so. Even doubling that and taking into account the size of the country, preparedness etc. Israel would easily be able to do it on their own.

If Israel was to fully commit, they’d issue a full evacuation order, level the border walls with Egypt, push the Gazan refugees over the border into Egypt by force and then level anything left, under the guise that they’ve evacuated the area and anyone left will be a combatant. At the end of the day, Egypt isn’t going to slaughter a wave of Gazan refugees if they really push past that border.

If they have implicit cooperation from Trump, then it’ll be simple as all hell. They’re still getting weaponry from the US, Europe can scream and whinge, but they’ll get over it after a decade and Israel can move towards exterminating the population of Lebanon next.

You’re a real glass half full guy.

Either he means what he says or, more likely it’s just another brainfart intended to distract from what Musk is doing at Treasury and USAid.

Trump has NEVER in his life stood up for poor, downtrodden, marginalised people, he doesn’t give a flying fuck about anyone who can’t offer him someting he wants. He thinks they’re ‘stupid’ for not being rich.

The AJE copy i shared before estimates that Hamas has just as much fighting capacity as before Oct 7, having recruiting as many militants as have been killed. Funny, turning 10-25% of the population into martyrs has really boosted recruitment amongst their relatives who are left…

They don’t have the ability to keep even their current reservists in the field for more than a few weeks at a time without their economy completely collapsing. This almost happened during the course of the past 18 months, combined with capital flight when Iran got involved, the Israeli financial system isn’t in great shape. The majority of military aid they get from the US is in kind material, guaranteeing their QME.

Oh 100% agree. I think he’s trying to say to the Saudis, we’re not doing charity anymore, so either let Israel do the ethnic cleansing and we’ll build settlements that look like Qatar or the Emirates, or else pay for the reconstruction yourselves.

Fighting capacity is one thing, but I’d dare so they’ve taken a lot of losses and the new soldiers are going to be glorified civilians with guns. Hamas had been building up the fighting capacity they had and in fariness, they barely scratched the Israel war machine. Statistica indicates there’s been 6000 dead and wounded on the Israeli side from the start of the conflict. 100% agree with the idiocy of Israel driving people to Hamas though…

They also didn’t have a sympathetic President in the US who will probably throw money at them to make sure his Israeli waterfront hotel gets built

Trump might honestly try, but they have limited capacity to “throw money at them” with direct financial support without it passing through parliament. To show you how far out this rhetoric is, even Republicans have signalled they won’t back Trump on US boots on the ground or “take over” of Gaza.

Some also rejected the idea of spending US taxpayer dollars or sending in US troops.

“I thought we voted for America first,” Republican Senator Rand Paul said on X. “We have no business contemplating yet another occupation to doom our treasure and spill our soldiers blood.”

I mean they all vote along party lines. If Trump suggests it, you can bet most will support it, considering they control the Senate and the House. They can complain all they want, but they wont risk their jobs going against Trump

Anybody who spent the last two years trying to justify this as anything other than ethnic cleansing and genocide needs to take this opportunity to punch themselves in the face.

The fact that we haven’t introduced sanctions against Israel (and frankly the US too) is a(nother) permanent stain on this country.

Hamas has stopped the prisoner swap agreement. They’re saying Israel has broken the ceasefire multiple times by shooting Palestinian civilians in the Gaza strip. Israel is meeting tomorrow to confirm their response.

Trump has also indicated that, in his plan, Gazan Palestinians will have no right of return after the rebuild.

What I’ve read wasn’t down to shootings, it was that Israel isn’t allowing construction material in, or even heavy machinery to clear rubble.

Sorry that too. There’s also talk of aid not going in etc.

Trump has told Israel, if hostages aren’t released by Sat, to cancel the true and “let all hell break loose”

What, again?

I suppose the more he allows to be slaughtered the less he has to worry about relocating from that sweet sweet future golf course.
