So Israel has advanced into Gaza again. Ground forces are cutting the Gaza Strip in half and looks like there will be major incursions in the North. They’ve dropped leaflets telling everyone to evacuate. They’ve also continued to expand into Syria and have made a few localized strikes in Damascus, despite them not being at war with the new regime there.
on a Tuesday night filing at Manhattan federal court, Ben & Jerry’s has now accused Unilever of ousting the ice cream maker’s chief executive Dave Stever without due process because he let the brand speak out on social issues.
Major public demonstrations in Gaza, which is kind of wild given the renewed assault. Lots of narrative twisting around how much they are against Hamas or just demanding an end to the war - Israel has of course seized on them as propaganda. I’ve seen posts suggesting major Fatah influences including the same anti-Iran slogans used by Fatah in the 07 civil war.
My point is that everyone - Israel, Hamas, Fatah, the US administration, other foreign actors - have been putting their own narrative on top of the actual demands of the protestors.
Netanyahu has decided to go for a week long trip to Hungary. Can see exactly now who he’s cosying up to, considering Orban is very much a dictator in his own right.
Too many groups operating that are only interested in the destruction of Israel rather than any meaningful dialogue about the establishment, governance or concern for a Palestinian state or Palestinian people. Fatah, PA, PFLP,Al Asqa Martyr Brigade and of course Hamas. If neither of them are considerered politically legitimate in the context of negotiating a proper Palestinian state then it just gives Israel carte blanche to continue essentially eradicating the existence of Palestine itself.
That’s a bit disingenuous.
Israel and Hungary have had a long standing, close diplomatic relationship that pre dates both men ascending to power.
In the 21st century, Hungary is known as one of the closest allies of Israel in Europe, breaking the European consensus many times and standing on Israel’s side. The Hungarian and Israeli leaders have both made official visits many times.
Despite rising antisemitism across Europe, Hungary’s Jewish community is experiencing unprecedented growth and security, with community leaders declaring it the safest European country for Jews today
It’s also one of the few countries that has refused to follow an international arrest warrant that’s been put out against Netanyahu, especially ironic because they’ve signed the Rome Statute… Point still stands though, they’re both in the same political ideology. They’re passing laws limiting the judicial process and freedom of press.
It wasnt. The footage shows them approaching with full lights… theres already been plenty of incidents of Israelis blocking off Palestinian ambulances and attacking paramedics
So crazy how Israel were certain it wasn’t a war crime until there was video evidence that it was a war crime.
They’re just innocent victims doing their best to defend themselves and it’s so unlucky so many of their actions turn out to be literally the most serious crimes in human society. When will it end?
Ok but Orban’s base are literally holocaust deniers. He’s being roasted by Israelis for this.
"Several people have suggested that in an effort to ingratiate himself with Viktor Orbán and the rest of his hosts, PM Netanyahu engaged in Holocaust denial. It wasn’t so much what he said but what he didn’t say.
The best case to my mind was made by veteran Israeli journalist Shimon Shiffer in Ynet.
Mr Netanyahu, did you really only know about a soccer star and Goulash?
Did you really not know that 564,500 of our people were taken to the extermination camps in May-July 1944? They arrived there with the help of the Hungarians, some of their grandchildren may have been among of those who stood guard in your honour

I watched the welcoming ceremony for our Prime Minister in Budapest. I listened to Netanyahu’s speech, which was replete with flattery directed at “my friend Victor” – Viktor Orbán. He recalled that he first came to Hungary in 1991, when relations with Hungary were renewed after the fall of the Soviet Union. “I didn’t know much about Hungary at the time,” Netanyahu said. “I only knew about [Hungary greatest ever soccer star Ferenc] Puskas and goulash.” That was the moment when I felt silent. Aren’t you ashamed, I thought angrily, is that really all you knew about Hungary? So let me remind you of a few facts. I was born in Hungary after World War II. My father, the late Mordechai Shiffer, was the only one of 14 Shiffer family members who returned alive from the labour camps to which he and other Jews in the Carpathians were deported. He lost his wife and a child in the inferno of Auschwitz.
Didn’t you know that 564,500 of our people were taken to the death camps in May-July 1944? They arrived there with the help of the Hungarians, some of their grandchildren may have been among of those who stood guard in your honour. And you choose not to mention that horror, the one you won’t be able to whitewash even at the price of the hug you got in Hungary. True, you have visited the memorial site “Shoes on the Danube”, the river from which our brothers the blood of our brothers and sisters are crying out. And all you do remember are Puskas and the goulash?
This is really really weird and I feel almost dirty saying it, but holy shit Piers Morgan’s interviews with Israeli officials are absolutely, utterly spot on. Absolutely savaging them for their lies.
Israel is now dropped all pretense and a few weeks ago indicated they’re taking over Gaza completely. Even Germany, the country that is arresting Jews for anti-Semitic talk has come out with some strong words against Israel’s genocide.
