There’s tickets available. But we keep getting error messages - ‘something went wrong’
Apparently quite common
Got that. Refreshed through it and worked again.
Tried but no luck.
Got kicked out in the end. No idea what was happening.
Neighbours had the same issue.
Haha a nice way to spend a Saturday morning
Sounds like it was a bit of a shit show for everyone.
I managed to get tickets for Heaton Park on the 20th July.
Tried all day and we finally got on around 4pm. Only option available was fucking ‘In Demand’ so was almost 3x the original price. Had been waiting all day so made a bit of an emotional purchase.
I also only needed either 2 or 4 tickets (for my partner and I and then a friend and his partner) but it would only let me buy 3 tickets, couldn’t get any other combination. So now my friend doesn’t want the ticket as he can’t let his missus miss out. Have a little bit of buyers regret now as I paid so much.
Absolutely taking the piss having ‘In Demand’ Pricing, seems like everyone was like me and just ended up spending the money after being on all day trying. No one had any idea up front that ticket would triple in value during the sale. The tickets were obviously in demand from the very beginning. Not sure if it’s Ticketmaster/promotor/band taking the piss here, but it’s really poor form.
So don’t buy the tickets? Though I agree it’s scummy if prices were advertised at x before the sale, then become 3x because of “demand” - they could’ve added another 30 dates and probably sold them out.
Surely you can offload a single without too much trouble.
I don’t think I’ll ever pay to see a band whose best album was released 30 years ago.
There’s a Beatles tribute band, i forget what they’re called now, but the premise is that The Beatles never broke up and they play all the best post-Beatles solo stuff as if it’s a continuation of The Beatles, in more of a Beatles style. I recall they did really well.
That sounds like a bit of fun.
For anyone who digs the Beatles and post-Beatles work, I keep a note of what I have listened to with a small summary so if there is anything you like or hate and want to compare your opinions with what I thought, let me know the album and I will tell you what I thought after I gave it a spin.
Looks like a little bit of both
Ticketmaster switched on its “In Demand Standing” surge pricing gimmick to bilk a little more money out of its already irritated customers. A community note on Twitter soon read, “Oasis published ticket prices which put Standing tickets in most of their venues at ~£150. That’s face value. Oasis has allowed for Ticketmaster to sell via dynamic pricing, which has those exact same £150 face value tickets listed for £350+.” Per Ticketmaster and the band, surge pricing was implemented to protect against second-party retailers, raising or lowering costs depending on market value."
Surge pricing? Just call it what it is - gouging. Cunts.
Totally, this bit is especially farked.
So you use scalper tactics to stop scalpers?
Can’t get scalped if we scalp you first
Surely that would have to be borderline illegal. It’s definitely morally fucked
There’s probably something buried deep, deep inside their terms and conditions that gives them the right to do this. Ticketmaster are proper carnts and have pulling off shit like this since the 90s when Pearl Jam sued them.
Good run as a white supremecist gang leader in Sons of Anarchy.
Might have to dig that out and rewatch it. It was one of my favourite TV shows for a while.
Mine also and then it junped the shark something fierce…when they all went to Ireland from memory.
