It's OK to be White and other dogwhistles - the Australian politics thread

:man_shrugging:

My percentages on the Coalition and Labor are exactly the same. I guess I choose based on what leader I like the most?

I don’t know what it thinks “economic left and right” are but I think that quiz drastically underestimates how much I’d like to see the big banks nationalised…

Other than the fact I’m not necessarily in favor of reducing tax cuts for investment properties (and that statement definitely does not fully describe how much reform I’d like to see in housing policy) - I’m not sure where it gets the idea that I"m more economically conservative than Labor.

Was it the question about how comfortable I am on my current income? Just because I’m ok, doesn’t mean I don’t vote for change for others…

It’s also got some strange ideas about the parties’ positions. Labor obviously doesn’t support the immediate recognition of a Palestinian state. The LNP obviously doesn’t support closer ties with China.

I mean it’s a general trend calculator rather than anything else. The stuff people are raising, if you want it to be that exact, you’ll be answering 200+ questions.

Andrew Hastie is my federal member.
All his signage has no sign of the Liberal party and is in a different colour blue than they use.

He went to one of my kids school today.
He had a terrible performance, barely answered any questions, stumbled through everything and just kept going back to talking about being a Christian and the defence force.
He was getting laughed at by the end.

The question on “subsidizing power”. The only scale on the issue is how much money you want to keep giving the power companies. How about fuck em all and we nationalise it all.

Owch. I had Hockey for a while.

I’ll see your Hockey, and raise you a ScoMo

The boundaries always seem to change but I once/again have Alex Hawke. He is so stupid apparently at one stage the party wouldn’t let him give interviews

Any excuse to post this classic from the local branch stacker again.

Haha that’s amazing. Imagine having to be photoshopped into a photo of your own family

Yet seems to have a lot of power in the NSW libs. It’s always shocking how far stupid people can get. The truth is, these are not very bright guys

I would dare say taxing the rich, taxing corporations, paying for doctors visits and those questions would be splitting it. Right is going to be against subsidizing doctors and taxing corporations/rich people.

I said we should tax the fuck out of corporations, so…?
