It looks like High Republic nonsense that Disney is trying to force down our throats. As a matter of principle, I’m boycotting it. I’ll watch Andor season 2 but that’s probably the extent of new Star Wars content I’ll pay to watch for the foreseeable future.
It is the show I am most looking forward to. I think Star Wars need to move to new eras. As somebody who has read all the books and seen all the animated shows and played all the video games, I am getting pretty tired of the the gap between episode 3 and 4. Its why Andor hasnt resonated with me as as much as it has with others, even though its the best written. I just dont think it adds anything to the world building.
However, the new republic era books are boring and early reviews of this show havent been terrific. Looking forwars to seeing some martial arts force style fighting.
This just turned up so I had a look.

It almost works

Without the movie sound track Peter Cushing’s acting in the brief stint he has he really shines. What an actor he was.
I saw The Acolyte trailer and can’t say I was any more inspired to watch it than before.
This comment, however. GOAT

“So what does that make us?”
“Absolutely nothing! Which what you are about to become!”

The Acolyte came out and I got through the first two episodes. Decent but largely forgettable television. Thought some of the writing and acting was very blunt, but the story was engaging.
Not as good as Mando, Andor or Ashoka, probably on par with Obi Wan and better than Bobba Fett.
