Macarthur FC Thread

Macarthur off field are looking good. All the right foundations.

5 yrs from now who will better - Macarthur or WU?

Looks like Macarthur but hopefully they will both be doing well. It’s going to be great next year with 12 teams

Frank farina announced as running their indigenous academy

Massive sponsorship, indigenous academy, local council affiliations, and then they go and sign Ivan Jolic as one of their coaches. Bizarre.

Did he swim back from Brazil? Haven’t heard a peep about him since he went AWOL from the Fiji gig.

This sounds good and is something I’d like to see more of in the league:

Macarthur FC’s membership program allows adult members to vote for and elect two of the seven members of the club’s board of directors, of which three will be female.

It is an initiative that demonstrates the club’s promise to be a true community focused enterprise.

The foundation membership program is priced at $95, includes a unique one-off playing shirt that will be worn by the first-team during the 2020/21 pre-season schedule, and go on sale on Friday, 1 November 2019.

Macarthur already passed 1,500 foundation membersin 48h.

Could well overtake Western United shortly (last figure I saw for WUFC was 3,206 members).

Their kit supplier is a bit random, but other than that they are doing a lot right in the build up, feels like a club with a solid plan.

Loved this:

Stead was formerly Director of Football at Brisbane Roar, where he was renowned as one the unsung catalysts of the club’s success under Ange Postecoglou.

Last time a Sydney club did that we got the RoT.

They’re intending to give members literal cow bells, which will be absolutely horrific.

Could be worse.

Cow bells?

FMD.

Magnificent

Oh fuck no, Wanderers will be laughing at being able to offload him with virtually no cap hit. :unamused:

Pretty sure Zeljko will wind up there as either the GK coach or Ante’s assistant. If anyone can get the best out of him it is Zeljko and the salty tears from those out west will be well worth any cap savings they make.

I don’t think there’d be salty tears, they were livid with his atrocious performances last season. I hope he stays on their books for his entire contract.

There will be when he turns in performances more akin to his time under Zeljko here and there rather than the way he finished up last season.

Whilst they still pay some of his salary :joy::shushing_face:

Anyone else find it hilarious they used footage of our support in their launch promotion video? (1:40 and 2:32, video here- https://www.macarthurfc.com.au/)
