This was rumoured a fair while ago as was Talay being his replacement.
There’s the makings of a very good squad there and, with Talay’s polish on it, they should be a very decent side next season.

It’s been disappointing how the owners of Macarthur have run the club so far. So much promise, and yet they seem to want to stifle any growth at every possible turn. a
Alienating active support and families from the get-go with ticket prices really isn’t the way you want to be advertising your club as a new start up.
They’ve plenty of advertising around Campbelltown. Macarthur Square has got all sorts of advertising through the mall for the Bulls. In the Campbelltown Catholic Club, there’s an entire bar with a wall-mural of the Bulls.
Wouldn’t have hurt them to have signed up a partnership with the have Wests Tigers either, given they’re the main sporting team in the area.
On field, results have been decent, but I feel they need to pull their finger out off the field. There’s a lot of promise with the club if they can engage the community correctly. I know they started in the hardest of circumstances, but there’s no use stabbing yourself in the foot.
Not surprised at the news Milicic is leaving. The guy doesn’t look like he enjoys coaching at the club. Then there was the whole off-season drama about him not wanting to get vaccinated etc.
Uffy Talay would be a good fit for them I think. For some reason, I can see Corica going to Wellington.
They lost me when they said they were named after Governor Macarthur.
More of a Macquarie fan?
Well, he was kinda an unofficial Governor for a while …
If they wanted to link to Macarthur they probably could have called themselves “The Rams” rather than the “The Bulls” or to be more original “The MacArthur Merinos”.
When they get beaten by Wellington they definitely become “The Sheep”.
I already have gone with despotic military junta that overthrew the legitimate government.
But that’s just me.
There’s already a Rams team out that way isn’t there?
Yep NPL3 - have been as high as NPL1. Emerton, Paul Reid, David Carney all played their junior football for the club
I think I have mentioned it before, but the Bulls moniker actually makes sense when tied into local history - Bull Cave - Wikipedia - and I must admit that the club have done a decent job of connecting with local indigenous people and history etc…
Also - would have been much better to say the club was named after Elizabeth if they had to say anything, but considering the area has been loosley called Macarthur for decades, it actually didn’t need much explaining really…
Nothing really 'loose about it. The whole region that encompasses Campbelltown Council, Camden Council, all the way South to Picton and out down the Hume, to Suttons Forrest is the MacArthur region.
And John was a grifter who should have been done for treason.
More offensive revisionism than Ned Kelly.
There’s an amazing episode of The Dollop podcast about it
That is one of my favorite episodes of the dollop… highly recommend this
Imagine wanting to directly link yourself to someone like MacArthur.
I wouldn’t mind this for some reason. Macarthur need something interesting instead of some boring old manager that won’t draw in any fans. Hope it works out for them.
Not sure how he will cope with the nightlife in Campbelltown, though there may be plenty of slappers willing to go a foursome with he, Bozza and some other bird.
I used to work for the guys who own the Campbell Hotel in Campbelltown. I’m sure they’d be happy to set up a VIP section for him…
