Malaysia, Bust or Busted? - The A-League where are they now thread

It’s looking good for Angie’s Yokohama with 20 min to go this week. They are 1 up while FC Tokyo are one down. If things stay this way, Yokohama go top by 2 points, and host Tokyo in the last round in 2 weeks.

It’s the J-League though, crazy shit always happens in injury time…

Right on cue, equaliser for Tokyo

But all over. Yokohama one point ahead with 2 games to go, which means if they beat Tokyo on the last day, they are champions no matter what happens next week.

Marinos have a tough game away to Kawasaki next week though. Would be no surprise if FC Tokyo are in front and only need a draw on the final day.

Steven Lustica has turned up in Uzbekistan.

THat link no workie.

It’s that stupid Fox Sports link issue.
To summarise, he has wound up playing for a team from a town in the middle of the Uzbek desert who are in a relegation battle. He confirms that the goat sacrifice thing that Super Dave said happens is a thing, mentions that he keeps up with the A league through Steve Ugarkovic who is his cousin and that he would entertain the idea of playing for a Canberra A-League side.
The biggest revelation though is that organic food is a lot more difficult to obtain in Uzbekistan than it is in Australia. Who would’ve guessed…

Organic food is more difficult to obtain? Would more people be farming around that area? Would tfey have more fresh food markets?

More farms but they would most likely be trying to get as much out of the land as possible. Mix that with lower education and less government guidelines with pesticides…

Not the locals. Everyone of them would be having a backyard garden. C”mon, how hard would it be?

In the middle of the desert?

But organic food comes in a plastic bag that says “organic”!

You would suspect that a town big enough to have a football team would have access to a water supply for people to grow vegetables.

Looking good again for Yokohama. 55" in and they’re two up and Tokyo are losing. If it stays like this, they’re champions today.

Tokyo equalised but only drew, so as long as Marinos avoids losing by 4 Ange will be champion

Is it decided on goal difference or head to head? FC Tokyo won the home game 4-2 back in June.

If Ange is so great, why no aussies in his team?

Not sure how many Aussies are up to J-League standard. The comparison between Tokyo v Urawa and Brisbane v Central Coast is pretty depressing…
