I’m planning to see it but I have a feeling I’ll have to do nothing afterwards as it’s bound to roll about in my head for a while.

Yeah my partner and I went home after it and just watched the dumbest thing we could find. I’d advise maybe not watching the last session of the day if you can avoid it.
A short break and then an ep of Bluey is magic for this sort of thing.
Big Kev excited for Dune 2 this week. Saw that on the Wednesday only they’re doing both movies back to back and thought it was a good enough reason to take the day off work…
I saw that sequel to The Dry yesterday. Pretty poor I thought. Very odd resolution to the plot which kind of invalidates everything they had been building. Quite strange.
Everything I have read is wondering why they decided to do that book, because it has exactly the same problems that the movie has.
Have Dune 2 tickets booked at iMAX at the museum on Saturday morning…… very, very pumped
I’ve got ticket for Sydney IMAX not till 10/3
Orpheum showing it in 70mm, still plenty of tickets available on the Thursday. Also doing a double on the Wednesday with part one.
Cant say I know much about the book but if the film plot is true to the book I wont be rushing out to read the author.
Your loss, the Dune books are amazing, immensely complex and stand up to multiple readings.
Are they talking about Dune or The Dry?
Ah, I assumed it was in reference to Dune, but it seems to be about The Dry.
The dune books go off the boil. 3rd and 4th were a bit meh. Should have spent more time in the same timeline rather than jumping years/generations.
Book one and two were fantastic though.
I was talking about The Dry sequel.
I disagree, my favourite book is God Emperor, Heretics and Chapterhouse were relatively poor. I’ve yet to manage to get more than a few chapters into any of Kevin ‘Pen for Hire’ Anderson/Brian Herbert books, despite repeated attempts.
I don’t think I ever got past the third book.
I’ve probably read the 1st one three times. Seen the Lynch movie more than I’ve read the book.
I stopped reading whichever book had the children and there are attempts to assassinate them. Might have been 4, in which case 3 was okay.
Pretty sure I saw someone reading Dune in Cove Heights before kickoff at the Adelaide game last weekend.
So just saw ‘The Zone of Interest’. So good but also so tough to watch.
