Round 1 - WSW vs Sydney FC - 20/11/21

I got mine delivered through SMS but the link is still dead. Nothing unusual, it usually only becomes active a few days before kick off.

1-1 draw I feel, we just don’t have a good record there (against them).

I feel like we need a PAX number just for old times sake.

I think we will see the same case from the previous season, their counter attack just being far too fast for our backline whilst we cannot break them down. 2-0 to them, move on to next season.

You’re a terrible person.

Ticketek are a steaming pile of horse manure.

Elvis comes off the bench to add some pace… scores a late winner… instant hero status… WSW get booed off at home whilst Victory fans wonder what might have been.

Perfect start to the season

I feel like Elvis is gonna start, he seemed to play a lot of minutes in preseason matches.

I heard somewhere Brattan is out for a while (or will at least miss round 1) - is it true?

Will be suspended for round 1 after the red in the last game of the season which we will not speak of.

I think their fans have slowly come to the conclusion, that they’re going to be 2-0 up at home, probably on Australia Day, we’ll claw it back to 2-2, and then on 90 minutes, he’ll score a wordlie from like 30-35 yards, and then do all sorts of acrobatic manouvers in front of their terrace.

That’s what I’ve been day dreaming of, anyway.

10 doing ads for the derby…I’m not used to actual promotion of our league.

Love it.

Haven’t watched it, are there any balls in paint?

Not many, if any.

Could be a pretty wet game. Predictions of 25mm of rain in Sydney on Saturday.

Looks like we’ll see just how fairweather Western Surburbs supporters really are.

That downpour is for Sunday. Saturday looks a chance of a storm.

More like ‘Chance of the Wanderers fans using any excuse not to show up and support their team’

Also, I predict the storm will hit 10 minutes before kickoff and delay it by 40 minutes. Any chance we can jammy a 1-0 lead before the lights go down, and the ref calls it early.

I have concerns about our midfield. Retre & Caceres could struggle against a midfield 3 of Antonis, Ugarkovic & Petratos.
Our defence is also a bit of a worry. If we start with a Grant/Wilko/Warland/King back 4 then I’m confident. A VdS/Wilko/Donachie/King back 4 has me a little concerned though.
I think getting in behind Traore could be our best way to attack. Traore likes to get forward so there may be space in behind for Barba to exploit. On the other hand, if Barba doesn’t track back then it’s going to be a busy night for Harry/Rhyan. I’d be inclined to start Elvis in place of Bobo and load the RHS of our front 4 with speed
Their biggest weakness appears to be defending set pieces, they’ve conceded from set pieces in just about every pre-season game they’ve played. We need to get our delivery right and this is where we could miss Bratts the most.

I think we’ll get the job done 3-1 but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the first batshit crazy 4-4 draw of the season.
