I’ll disagree slightly with eddie on Gurd ever having been better. I’ve given Gurdy a lot of leeway and trusted the coaches on why he seemed to be the preferred one, in games I’ve seen he was never markedly better than Grimaldi (now at Newy), Paull (CCM) or Bakrdanikoski (SU58). Might be a case of him having peaked earlier and then plateauing, it happens and injuries haven’t helped.
I’ll note again that Matthews was preferred to Paull, although younger he partnered Bakrdanikoski at CB a season before Paull got into our NPL first team. But since Paull left for CCM he has gone through the gears and stepped up deluxe. This from last June

TL:DR, some of the non-retentions have hurt (Tilio, Hof, Adamson) but I’m certain we’ve nailed others (JK, Pava, Scarcella over Priestman and now Hayden).
