Round 18 - Sydney FC vs Western Sydney - 28/02/2020

Yep. Thank you FFA Lizard Men!

*Reptilians

The club needs to adopt the hashtags #reptilians & #illuminati whenever these pro SFC conspiracy decisions are made.
This is my pick from their forum:

Weekend absolutely ruined. Was so excited for this derby for tons of reasons and now its all gone down the drain. I blame a majority of this on the FFA and Sydney FC itself. I have my reasoning as well.

Baumjohann who has hit good form will now get to play for them and all their injured players will most likely be fine to play as well. They (SFC/FFA bloody saw this coming from a mile away and made no effort to accommodate what was coming or didn’t even look to change grounds.

They better let only the players who were selected in the matchday squads play in the rescheduled derby or I believe that’s extremely unfair.

Might as well just start handing back refunds, I doubt many will go to a mid week game for both kids and adults. Kids/young adults will be in the middle of their school terms and may have assessments on. Parents/Adults will have work or other pre arrangements.

Absolute b*hit and extremely ped off.

It was Sydney fcs weather machine parked over kogarah alone which was set to make 200mm of rain in 24 hours, just to get this game postponed

Best post ever

The worst thing about this horrible club of ours is that they could have used their ability to control the weather to save lives and homes during the recent tragedies, but instead decided to use these powers to get one guy to not be suspended for a match against a bottom half team. For shame.

Was it our call or a league call or a joint decision?

I am fairly sure TV would have been annoyed to lose their saturday night draw card

A rescheduled date for the derby won’t be confirmed until Monday afternoon at the earliest, and Sydney FC sources have ruled out the possibility of the game being held midweek given forecasts suggesting there will be minimal let-up to the torrential rain until Tuesday.

FFA and broadcasters Fox Sports are eager for the rescheduled fixture to take place on a weekend, which could force other games to be rearranged to accommodate the marquee fixture. One possible date speculated is the weekend of March 1-2 when Wanderers have a bye.

Sydney FC are set to play Wellington Phoenix at home on February 28th, a Thursday, but that game could be moved for the derby. If that fixture can not be moved, a date later in March is likely.

Sydney have indicated their preference to host the derby in March as they balance continental and domestic competitions and the difficult travel load.

Feb 28 is a Friday when we play Welly and that weekend is 29 Feb-1 March.

Surely we could just play this weekend.

The Wanderers are meant to play Newcastle, but nobody wants to see that shit.

The best option for rescheduling this match would be to move the game against Wellington from Fri 28/2 to Thu 27/2 and to play the derby on Sun 1/3.
We play CCM on 23/2 in Gosford and Jeonbuk on 4/3 in Sydney so although fixture congestion is an issue there is very little travel involved.

Any options that aren’t Saturday get an official hillbilly raspberry.

I’ll be pissed off if they move it to a day where I’m working, seeing as I already took a day off to attend the original fixture

Seen this gem from the A League FB page? I think it’s completely fucked, in case you don’t get my irony…

At least Serbia was on our side …

It’s been removed, finally reacted to the avalanche of scorn and displeasure

Think it was removed because of the tin hat brigade, minus the obvious ‘outrage’ also you have to add the salty salty dogs that are the rest of the A leagues fans

It was tacky and tasteless. I can’t believe they left it up there for so long… the last time I looked - about 3.5 hours ago, the vast majority of comments were negative with a sprinkling of “FFA = SFC” type remarks
