One benefit of this being postponed is that i get to watch the Japanese Super Cup live.

Preparing for that Yokohama ass blasting early.

Fox is playing extended highlights of the 4-3 win in Parra from 2014-15 now if people want to watch some derby action.

Edit: Why did we ever get rid of that Janko guy?

Edit 2: I just realised I’m still mad about the RBB chucking a flare which reduced the snake’s visibility.

Damn the postponement. That means that the Wanderers go three weeks without losing.

The BBL is getting an absolute lashing for not making a call on the game. I know its a final and everything, but credit to everyone for getting things done so early in the day and not screwing people over.

And yet the bbl is going ahead. Looks like they might have jumped the gun a bit too early…

It’s like they’re playing at different grounds (with different drainage for starters).

I was hoping it’d rain more so the decision would be validated, but I think they fugged up a bit tbh. Gambled on the forecast being right and it was way off, didn’t rain much at all. However I preferred they make an early call than wait an hour before KO and postponing.

Was it a bad choice though? I’m sure the crowd would have been absolutely dire (no one could sit on the hill) and the pitch was clearly really waterlogged already and it’s not like it was warm enough to really dry it out.

Can’t compare the SCG and Kogarah in terms of handling the rain.

Definitely the right call by Sydney FC.

The BBL shouldn’t have gone ahead. They only played 12 overs each way which is bollocks. They were just forced into playing as they didn’t a reserve day. It totally fucked the spectacle and I’m sure they would have postponed it if they had a chance

Also BBL is a TV show rather than a sport, so as long as the lights and cameras work, it’s good to go.

I haven’t watched a full game of the Big Bash yet, but as long as a team from Moore Park bend over a team from Melbourne I’m OK with it.

So true. It’s a circus. Seems all the premier T20 comps are more.contrived than the old WSC in 70s…but people lap it up.

I watched about 3 mins of it last night whilst flicking around. Someone from Melbourne hit a six, the crowd enjoyed it as if it was their own team.
Utter nonsense.

BBL is a meme competition. The finals crowds after school holidays ended were all between 10-15k, last night had 10k. For all the money spent on it it’s an utter failure.

Last night’s game was sold out, but due to the weather, many didn’t attend.

Attendances are well and truly down, the initial hype has died off a bit and I don’t think the quality of the lineups are nearly as good as the initial year or two.

Reminds me of AFLW. The first season had massive crowds and huge hype. So far crowds are down well below what we get to games, even in Victoria, except for the season opener.

Neither competition clearly poses a long-term threat to the A-League, as people initially worried about. It just serves to sap some media attention.

So does this mean that Baumjohann will be available to play against WSW if our next game is against a different opponent?

Yep.
