Round 20 - Wellington vs Sydney FC - 23/02/19

Our game against the Nux in Campbelltown, which is now looking pretty bloody important if we want to look at all competitive even for second place.

EDIT: Match preview is up on the front page:

Drop points and I’m back on the #CoricOUT bandwagon

We are going to get arse BLASTED.

Based on form Im predicting a 1-1 draw with us having 65% possession and 265 balls into the box compared to 1

And our goal is a jammy penalty.

Given off the back of VAR despite there being no evidence of the ball getting close to Taylor’s hands

If we come away with 6 points against the nix and adelaide I’ll be happy. Hopefully city grab in the derby

Despite 98% possession, 864 entries into the penalty area and 324 shots on target to the opposition’s zero, we will lose 0 – 1 when a thunderbolt from Reza hits the wood work and rebounds the full length of the field, over Redmayne’s head, and into our own goal.

Controversial decision from VAR in 97th minute of extra time ruling that there is a retrospective penalty awarded from the previous encounter on the grounds that the NIx had breached the laws of the game by erroneously using two goalkeepers to block a shot during the first half in Wellington. Durrante’s defence on behalf of the home team that “they had to because of the wind” was rejected.

This game comes at the perfect time for us. The Complacency Cup is on a break this week so the boys will be fully focused.
3 - 0 win, Milos with 2, Alfie with 1.

Would like to see the 4-2-3-1 over the 4-4-2 and Caceres next to O’Neill but not sure how we play the 3-1 part with the squad weve got

As long as Milos and Ivanovic are in the 3 then the rest is interchangeable and should see us with a strong bench and rotation options thru ACL. :+1:

Yeah with Reza and ALF there’s no way we are playing anything but two up front. Unless we use Reza as more of a second striker like Brosque was last season.

So is Jop fully fit now?

This is the second straight week where he hasn’t been listed in the line-up so I’d say he isn’t injured but he is maybe just being frozen out of the squad.

Maybe rather than “frozen out” it’s fair to say that Calver’s form has been better so he’s the bench defender at this point in time.

According to the article in the ACL thread he’s been fit and available for selection for three weeks.

Where is Tratt?
