Itā€™s a little joke. It was never going to reach dizzying heights.

Really punching down with these puns

That would be a low blow.

Itā€™s a small price to pay for a little humour.

If they ever do a Spaceballs remake, Nisbet could play Dark Helmet.

The biggest yet simplest change since Talay has taken over is the level of fitness of the players. Last year and the start of this year our players were so far off the pace that it felt we were never truely in a match, if we had a lead we would give it up or if we were playing a better team we were going to be embarrassed. The turn around in the level of fitness with the same squad, within a season has us so much more competitive.

I started to get nervous as the 60th minute ticked over that we hadnā€™t scored yet and we were inevitabley going to run out of steam and creativity from the bench. The high intensity that the boys played with last night never dropped. Iā€™m excited to see what we do with the rest of the season

Kinda reminds you of the high fitness levels of another coach we had ā€¦

No. Wait.

Very small sample size and I didnā€™t catch the game last night but his attitude appeared to be off in the NPL game last week.
He appeared to be more concerned with arguing with the referee rather than contributing to the game.

Heā€™s missed quite a bit of football this season through injury and non-selection and, as a result, I think his form has tapered off. There also appears to be a bit of frustration there possibly from seeing the likes of JGR, Matthews & Hollman getting regular minutes but heā€™s bouncing between the first and NPL squads. The NPL game last week almost looked like he thought he was too good to be there.

Definitely not ready to bin him off but I think he needs to go back to the NPL for a couple of weeks and dominate as he did last year to get his confidence back.

Crowd reported as 12,768 - looked and felt way more than that, also helped by a fair few CCM fans. Thought it looked comfortably bigger than some of our 15k reported crowds.

The game plan for him last night appeared to be get him running past the back line onto those diagonal balls. Only issue was he could not outpace either Kaltak or Hallā€¦

Iirc the last NPL game he played was the one where De Jesus got sent off after 5 mins. Understand why JK would be incredibly frustrated, heā€™s getting a start there for the minutes and as you said to hopefully get some form / confidence back, but that opportunity goes out the window for the next 85+ while weā€™re down to 10. Close to a wasted night out for him.

Was really hoping heā€™d go well last night. Heā€™s not one to usually drop his head after a mistake but confidence did seem down, a few poor options taken with the ball and a few poor runs off it, but also seemed like the energy wasnā€™t there either. CCMā€™s best foray in the first half was pretty much down to him not hustling enough to get across and pressure Doka (who then committed Brattan and blew by to the edge of our box, watching from Heights Doka couldā€™ve been forced to go sideways / backwards in his own half if JK busted a gut).

Love the kid, really wanna see him step up consistently, but it was the right call for Talay to hook him at HT last night.

JK had the most meaningful chance from the first half, an absolute belter if Vuka doesnā€™t save it. Iā€™m not saying it was an outstanding performance by any means, but nor was it terrible.

I feel like he lost a truckload of confidence after the miss in the first derby. Heā€™s also been out with a number of injuries. He might well still be carrying a knock (or knocks) while playing.

It is also clear by now that Fabio isnā€™t fit enough to play in Talayā€™s system for 90 minutes, which pretty much requires him to be one of the leaders of that press. Wood had that role and did it better, despite him not being good at much else. It is one problem that Talay wonā€™t be able to solve until the off-season. God help the opposition if we find the right player for that role.

Yeah that was the game.
Understand being frustrated but channel that into your performance. Take the game by the scruff of the neck and impose yourself rather than harassing the referee for 90 minutes.

Heā€™s young so that experience isnā€™t there but given the age restrictions placed on our NPL squad, when he is back playing in that team he has to be the one leading by example.

I think it would do him the world of good to be sent back for a couple of weeks, not only to get his form and confidence back but to also develop as a leader. The kid has so much talent.

An excellent performance last night by SFC. Totally throttled our midfield and isolated Edmondson and Nizzy who in. my opinion should have been back in his usual midfield position rather than playing as a #10, no matter how good he has filled that role lately.

Keep that form up and SFC is a strong chance. Hope we do not meet in the final series until perhaps the last game when we can get revenge for season 1.
