If you mean by his jinking, shifty style that he often holds onto the ball too long and doesn’t advance an attack, sure I agree. If you mean by mixing things up now and again of his wild inconsistency, sure. If by unpredictability you mean his uncomfortable penchant for getting an unnecessary red card, especially in big games, sure.
Burgess is also not the only player who is creativity and can think on his feet. We have Tiago Quintal who is much younger and has a higher potential for improvement. Marin France also looks like he’s one for the future.
If you’re going to have senior players on the roster, you have to be able to trust them and Burgess pissed that down the drain a season or two ago, I’m afraid. It is harsh but it is the reality, and if its true he refused a move just to run down his contract, it’s a bad look for him given he doesn’t contribute well enough often enough when he is on the field. I’d be thinking twice about him if I were the Mariners or any other club.

Quintal has been excellent of everything I’ve seen, looks so comfortable on the ball, he’s like a more creative and lively Caceres.
Side note that Ryan Grant got his 5th yellow of the season and will miss our next game. Things are looking up.
What do you mean looking up? Grant’s shift into the centre has actually led to a shitload more stability as he’s settled into the position. He’s actually settled down the centre of defence and really stepped up leadership wise.

I wonder who will come in for Rhyno. Talay doesn’t seem to think JCP is a CB, so it complicates things a bit.

I was being sarcastic. It’s a big blow when we have basically no cover and the two Grants have been good in defence and finally settling.
