I know, Quintal’s a technician you can just see his brain working hard on the pitch & creativity. Uffy’s usual allocation of 5 minutes for him at the end was never nearly enough but. With us seemingly playing now a more tika-taka hold posession outside the area & try to pass our way through style he would fit that model. We have tactically changed completely from Arnies day when we would tend to sit back & use the pace of Brosque et al to counter when the opposition lost posession.
I sure hope that when we gave a player with Osteo Pubis a 3.5 year contract, we either got a bargain in salary, or structured it in a way that gave us an out if it remains a chronic issue (e.g. 1.5+1+1 based on appearances)?
I miss Arnies philosophy, use work horses like Brillante & ONeill to absorb pressure & break things up then as soon as the turnover happens it’s release the goal hounds aka Adrrian Broque & Bobo. Too good to last but & then came the Antonis goal which caused covid.

If I am to read between the lines it is a stab at the fact he was the performance of the round but hooked at half time.
Along with his ‘call me’ celebration, I don’t know. The kid is just not getting the appreciation he deserves. I’ll be shocked if he signs a new contract, who can blame him?

Harper and Hill said at the time that the call me celebration was directed towards a national team call up. My thoughts at the time given the contract situation and some of speculation around here was that it was directed to any clubs potentially interested to pick up the phone.

I would be more worried about the contract situation if we had been renewing other players, but we haven’t.
If it’s true he refused a move to WSW he should get a bonus and whichever backroom staff member tried to negotiate the deal should be docked pay. You don’t try to send someone to WSW who isn’t agitating for it.

For what it’s worth I asked Uffy months ago about Burgess and he also cited “performance issues.” I’m very surprised he didn’t leave in the latest window.
