Round 26 - Melbourne City vs Sydney FC - 3/5/25

Let this nightmare end.

The maths is really simple - a win or a draw puts us into sixth place and the inevitable loss kicks us out of finals contention. Unfortunately City are still playing for second place so probably need a win here too.

I mean it’d sorta fit the season if we scrapped a 3-2 win here, and then lost 3-2 to the Wanderes after being 2-0 up.

Decent chance of WSW going up to second if we take points off Heart?

On the one hand just put us out of our misery already. On the other fuck Melby

Casey Fields Group are on an unbeaten run since round 18, now at round 29 & minus the bye they’re at 10 unbeaten so the law of A-League averages could dictate two things a) statistically that has to come to an end soon & we just happen to be in the right place at the right time or b) they’re still building up steam & we’re in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I’ll always want us to win every game we play in but, jeez, Talay has made it hard this week

We’re not going to become the first side to win the toilet seat after finishing 6th.

An emphatic loss to highlight the need for major changes in the offseason would do us more good in the long run.

I dont think we need an emphatic loss to show how shit we are, that’s been well established over the past 8 months

Dont really care what happens here, would be nice for Sega to score and lock up golden boot though.

I just hate how Tilio plays like Messi against us.

He has nothing to prove - I am pretty sure the club wanted him to stay and he left us.

He is locked on to get 3 assists and 2 goals on Saturday

Time for another The History Makers YouTube special if we do, except this time it’s directed by JayFC

Facebook is a very interesting mixture of Talay OUT and Where is Max, he would’ve saved our season.

If we win/draw, and WUN draw (if we win), or win (if we draw), does that mean we play city again next week?

Can’t see us beating them twice in a row, or even getting a draw/win against them.

So pretty much just fold the club now.

WSW can also overtake either or both depending on results.

I clearly wasn’t looking too hard at the ladder. Hah
