Round 3 - City vs Sydney FC - 3/11/23

Actually, good point - Corica hardly ever brings back anyone into the starting line up after injury… even those lowly hopes of King on the left may be dashed. I know at least he’s a specialist left back, but he’s really struggled since going O/S - getting skinned 1:1, too slow for balls over the top and getting out jumped on corners… and yet, still better than Courtney Perkins!

Should have dropped Redmayne, but we knew he wouldn’t.

Gurd finally found the incriminating evidence that retre had, the only reason Corica would ever start him.

Well, I’m shocked.

Gurd in the backline, JGR in the midfield and the wingers have inverted. I like.

A backline combination that hasn’t played together yet, we’ll see if that bites us.

Hi Steve, thanks for reading SFCU.

To be fair he has always been absolutely terrible with his feet and it’s probably helped keep him in this league in which he’s made a helluva contribution to our club. Also pretty much redeemed himself with a good game after that air swing, and I wouldn’t want to drop Pava into the current mess just yet.

He should be on notice that his place isn’t guaranteed and hope to see a reaction though.

Redmayne was sold down the creek with the two awful passes in front of him. Everyone knows he’s not that good controlling or passing the ball. He was put in that situation. Additionally, he made some good saves after that calamity. I’d say he’s earned one more chance at least. Agreed that he should definitely be on notice, though.

So Gurd is at CB, JGR is DM. Caceres is #10. Wood is starting. SFCU DEMANDS ROYALTIES!

Shocking. Genuinely surprised with those changes. I do think they’re positive though. Happy to see Brattan get help in midfield. Happy to see Gurd given the chance. Happy to see Wood also given an opportunity to take his spot back.

Grant with a head knock in the warm up

Well something had to change …

Many thoughts i’ve wanted to post, but i’m just going to watch the match.

Can’t wait to go to bed.

Even by City standards this crowd is dismal
