Russia v Ukraine - WWIII or Putin's cliff dive?

Yup…

The positive is that it looks like Europe will be heavily stepping up in terms of military funding etc. It’s not like the US is just going to cut off Ukraine, guaranteed they’ll still happily sell them a ridiculous amount of ammunition etc.

The really big possibility would be the removal of sanctions by the US on Russia, which would be a huge boon for Putin.

I have thought this was the intention since the election campaign. Same as his “Abraham accord/deal of the century” in the middle east in term 1, it was immediately rejected by the Palestinians, but the point was to provide a fig leaf for Israel to normalise relations with the Gulf states and Morocco.

As I understand it you guys are already committing 5% of GDP.

It’s a bit of a weird one. 0.71% is going directly to Ukraine and the rest is earmarked to stay in Poland to assist Ukrainian refugees. I’m assuming as with all political donations that’ll be ridiculously open ended as to where the money would go

Imagine Reagan’s face seeing the Republican Party now

They probably would have thrown him out for being a socialist.

And he was a welfare destroying, neoliberal, trickle down cunt.

Who just loved Russians

Why did those Ukrainians start it again?

Well, you see, Lenin decided that there would be autonomous Soviet… oh never mind

So Putin just came out stating that Zelensky is a dictator and he’s screwed up the entire war… Sorry Trump… i meant Trump

You have to hand it to the Russian intelligence services, managing to get a sleeper agent all the way in the White House is no mean feat

An ex-KGB agent openly admitted to Russia having tapped up Trump, and America still insisted on allowing him a second presidency.

One can only blame Russia so much for what they did. America enabled it and it is America that will pay the price in the long term.

It’s interesting that Trump’s change of direction suddenly has EU leaders opening their cheque books and pushing more equipment to Ukraine.

One could say Trump is playing 3d-chess here, but I suspect it’s just a fortunate outcome, he’d struggle to beat a kid at checkers.

I think it’s a core part of his agenda to claim to be ending the democrats wars, he tried to take credit for the draw down in Afghanistan that started with Obama after all.

He needs something he can sell the Republican base to justify caving into the “communist dictator” Putin, so now we’ve got the “Nazi dictator” Zelensky. And America gets cheap Russian oil and inflation is over and the Republicans are in power forever. Never mind that the war isn’t over, it’s Europe’s problem now.

Watch him gift Alaska to Russia or something insane.

Americans have been told that Russia is their enemy all their lives now their demigod is cuddling Russians. They must be so confused, poor dears.

How can they get confused if they don’t think, or can’t think?

Nothing confusing. They’ll just think whatever he tells them to. We have always been at war with Eurasia etc etc
