Sack the Board: the Cricket thread I

It is what he does. Remarkable

Second lowest total in test history.

Brilliant bowling from the Aussies

Jesus, West Indies. Make a game of it will ya.

What… the… fuck.

So we don’t need to worry about the bowlers then.

With eyes towards the Australian summer now, this is what I see.

Jofra Archer will break down by the second test, Stokes will overextend himself and burn out by the third. England’s young and hungry batting lineup will wilt in the Antipodean sun as the Australian fast bowling cartel + the goat feast on the carcasses.

Even with a flawed and feeble batting lineup it will go 4-0 Australia with rain (probably in Sydney) preventing the whitewash.

We will in 5 years. Right now, however …

Not this summer but it won’t be too far away

England are going ok against the Indians - great game at Lords to take a 2-1 lead.

Do I think we’ll win the ashes? No. Do I think it’ll be close? Absolutely.

Australian batting line up is poor by the very high normal standards, and the old boys could break at any moment with the ball… England have a fairly solid group of batters but the bowling is a clear weakness (Held together by sticky tape on both stokes and archer).

Yeah agree. I think the ashes is going to be really tight and hard fought. Our superior bowlers up against the superior English batters. Hopefully some of our batter step up with the home ground advantage

Because we’re right and they’re wrong.

Bastion of all things true and right with the game, saviour and moral compass Ben Stokes strikes again.

You could almost forgive him offering the hand if they didn’t double down with a tantrum. The sledging, “We don’t care about milestones” (Rooty’s is different though). Insufferable.

When the world is on India’s side you know you’ve messed up. God I hope we go 5-0 (f*** off)

I’d go as far as saying India had a moral victory

I like that he is batting and bowling himself to exhaustion and nobody seems to be able to tell him otherwise.

Broken down by the third test in Australia for sure.

But they’re saving test cricket right? That’s how you save test cricket. Knowing you cant win you just stop playing.

Jeez the English test team live rent free in your heads more than we do in the Wanderers fans heads

The Aussies have just beaten the West Indies with some superb fielding by Maxwell to take a 4-0 lead but there is no mention of it here.

I watched the game and the second catch was indeed a special but at the end of the day, it’s still just T20.

Yeah it’s a bit hard to get excited about the T20 unfortunately. I mean I’ll watch it if it’s on but it doesn’t really matter. Test cricket does, especially in an ashes year

1- ask for flat deck
2- flog yourself bowling
3- be unable to meaningully contribute to the attack due to exhaustion
4- ask other team to stop playing so your bowlers aren’t injured by continuing to bowl on flat deck
5- claim moral victory
