No rush. They’ve still got him listed under SFC so he counts for now, just a heads up I suspect it will change from 1 January or whenever the window opens and Macarthur can register him.
Weird situation that one. I understand he was still under contract with us (for the Cup run) when the last window closed, so isn’t considered a free agent who can immediately be signed and registered outside that window. If we had him on an NPL deal for next season we could’ve continued playing him in the interim, but we didn’t… sigh… and now Macarthur have had to wait until the next window opens too.
Had a squeaky bum moment when Margush (the designated tank captain) made the bench against Macarthur, if he’d gotten on the pitch it would’ve cost big points with Arslan already set as VC.
Note there’s a new round starting tonight, with Adelaide hosting league leaders Wellington.
As it’s a new year and we’ve passed round 10 I’m also wiping the existing yellow card issued to Paulska. Purely coincidental that I’m heading down for ROSPROD, so you know, feel free to perform an improved jinxy then.
No card issued to Eddie on account of self-reporting above, but please amend this week as it looks like you only have Lacerda and De Jesus atm.
For round 13 coming up please note that Brisbane and Newcastle play twice, while Adelaide and Western United do not play at all! We’ll have a few curly ones like this coming up due to midweek games, resulting from Unite Round being added late in the piece and the games originally scheduled for last weekend having been moved and becoming a split round (AFC games may also be a factor).
Round 12 just gone I appear to have arsed the 5th highest score overall, though did have to burn two trades in order to bank 30 odd points otherwise sitting on the bench in Margush & Caceres. Stoked with that, especially after having decided against making Davila VC in the first game. Would’ve been a cruisier round if able to tank the captaincy and bank those x 2, but thankfully Lolley’s late show meant that didn’t hurt too much in the end.
Keep-Up is being shut down but the ALeagues website is staying up.
The fantasy and tipping comps would just be hosted there rather than being redirected from that site now.
Since there’s money involved in not just winning prices but option to pay for ‘assistant’ or whatever it’s called, i’d assume it’s legally binding to at least finish this season.
Don’t know how it looks to everyone else, but following on from the above posts the wheels are already starting to fall off my A-Leagues app.
For some reason it’s turned the SFCU group (where only overall points totals used to count) into a league where it’s also randomly assigning some head to head matchups amongst us. My public league, the one where you’re randomly assigned on sign up and supposed to have weekly head to head matchups, also has greatly reduced visibility. Haven’t been able to see any of the other progress scores in that league for the last 2 weeks now, all changes (for the worse) have perfectly coincided with APL’s belt tightening.
Like a VAR itching for that referral bonus I am always watching.
Sunday Gentleman (Ben) appears down to only 2 SFC players, Lolley and Fabio, after trading out Lacerda. Please complete another trade this week to get back to the minimum of 3, thank you.
I think that was Belldiouf the year he won the SFCU comp and was in with a shout of winning it overall. Currently 50th but still 300 odd points off the pace so I’m content sticking to the rules… that and I’ve only got 3 trades left which will be needed to cover any injuries.
It was me. Ive stepped back from playing the last couple of seasons because I really only watch Sydney play due to the time difference. Im just not informed enough on the other players.
And for the record, I stuck to the rules of the forum until the final, when it was impossible for me to not include Victory players and field a full team. I ended up finishing joint 3rd. I could have finished 2nd, but i had to gamble and pick opposite players to the guy who game first, and hope they became unlikely heros.
Your timezone would make it almost impossible. I’ve long given up trying to do an ALW fantasy side as well, it’s so hard to keep track of all those extra fixtures, who’s in / out and amend as necessary once lineups are available. It’s hard enough doing ALM from Sydney, especially when out and about on our own game days.
Luckily it doesn’t continue through ALM finals anymore. Week 1 is like a pre-season hitout, from week 2 onwards you play head to head in your randomly assigned public league (12 teams, so you play the other 11 twice each for 22 fixtures), then finals in your public league cover ALM rounds 24, 25 and 26. So the fantasy comp is now done prior to commencement of ALM finals.
Heads up, plenty of us have Zach Clough, it appears he’s out this weekend due to personal reasons.
Yeah, it is not easy to get enough info on ins/outs etc. I used to do fantasy NRL ages ago, and even then they had a really good page that was always up to date on ins/outs and why. The A-leagues site has a page that gets updated on a Thursday and that’s it… plus it doesn’t really tell you enough. I was trying to work out why Bacchus was out the week before and whether he was a chance of starting tonight. I spent ages trying to find an article that mentioned it, but couldn’t… I still ended up bringing him in and put him on the bench, but it would have been good to know. Similar things each week. I don’t watch too many other games other than Sydney, so really needs a good form guide.
