SFCU A-League Fantasy - 2024/25

Welcome to SFCU’s A-League Fantasy Competition for season 2024/2025. Thanks once again to those who’ve shown interest in joining up and offered their preference for historic rules to remain in place (no naysayers spoke up). The rules are:

  1. No current MV / Australia’s Shame players
  2. Minimum 3 SFC players in your squad

There is as yet no other player designated as persona non grata for this season.

I’ll monitor completed squads each week and note any issues in this thread, as there were a few casualties last season I recommend setting notifications for this thread if you think you’re likely to miss those posts otherwise. Historically any breaches have resulted in warnings or yellow cards, then if not rectified upgraded to orange and/or red which means expulsion from the league (a route we don’t wish to go down).

As KeepUp and the official ALM Fantasy Comp appears to have been binned we will be migrating back to Sportsdeck. Link to the newly created SFCU league is:

You can also login via the web or through the Sportsdeck app in your App Store and subsequently add yourself to the SFCU league by using the group code 136972.

If any issues please post here or send a PM and I’ll try to be of assistance. You’ll have unlimited changes to your fantasy squad prior to the ALM kicking off on Friday 18 October, thereafter each weekend will see rolling lockouts where players are unable to be moved once their club has kicked off. Good luck!

If they somehow do pick up the comp out of the bin before the start of the season, are we sticking to Sportsdeck?

Matthew’s is a mid?

I’m playing him as a number 10, what about you?

Yeah, I’ve no intention of transferring back to an ALM one at this stage if they’re only getting it up and running within a fortnight of the season.

We did previously use the Sportsdeck one, it’s identical in terms of funtionality / trades and I’m sure runs off the same database. Only difference last year was Sportsdeck has a $3M wage budget while the KeepUp one was $4M, although bar a few exceptions most players were a direct pro-rata equivalent in each so you could still assemble the same squad.

Few other telltale signs too. e.g. as the others have already noted, in the official one last year and again in Sportsdeck now for some reason they’ve listed Hayden Matthews as a midfielder. It’s absolutely the same database.

Bump, one week to go. :+1:

As an aside the official ALM app was updated in the App Store yesterday, can’t even log in to it to see if fantasy stuff is finally there. Did the password reset a few weeks back, upon logging in this time the app crashed, now it won’t even re-open back to it’s home screen. Once logged in it literally won’t even open on iPhone.

When is deadline?

You can register and join whenever but won’t be able to pick CCM (or MV, not that it matters with our rules) players after they kick off next Friday.

Players get locked and can’t be subbed or traded once their team kicks off each week.

So next Friday before kick off… going to wait on injuries and thus.

Friday arvo activities booked. :+1:

Edit: No team limits in the comp? As in, i should still be able to join before kick off to SFCU.

Yep, follow the link above and you’ll be right to join our league. There’s no limit, we run on overall score only. The comp will also assign you to a random public league where you play head to head against others each week, but iirc week one doesn’t count, they need an even number of fixtures so will only have 26 (not 27) weeks in the public leagues. So even then you can join in week two and not be hamstrung.

And don’t forget that Adelaide have a round 1 bye.

Yeah, byes and midweek fixtures are a scourge. I long for an even number of teams and weekend games only.

Alright so everytime I enter my email address, click aleague, insert password it redirects back to the original screen to enter email and I can’t progress.

Dog shit platform is dog shit.

Edit: appears to be all browsers on all platforms. Hopefully it’s fixed soon and this doesn’t happen before games…

I’ve just logged in with no issues via both the app and the web. Using the link in the OP works, that’s the link to join SFCU’s league but if you’ve already joined it you can still log in through there, just results in a pop-up confirming you’re already registered and takes you to your team homepage.

Official ALM app has been updated again. Yeah, still doesn’t actually open though… :man_facepalming:

Well looks like it’s something to do with my email address then. Still infinite looping.

Works with my work email address.
