Microsoft owns the same trademark for finance/ecommerce/gaming
The trademark is for the logo as far as I can see, not for the concept of having a X in a name. Otherwise there’s going to be a few hundred court cases from the adult film industry alone
Apparently, when they changed the name on the Twitter headquarters, the forgot to get permits for the equipment, so cops got involved and stopped the process hahaha
Also as I understand it their contact with the building owners means they can’t actually change the name on their sign?
What a fucken douche bag. Reeks of someone who just rules by fear telling people to get shit done while flying by the seat of their pants rather than approaching anything in a thoughtful manner.
Well that’s how these cunts can get so ludicrously rich. It’s mainly chutzpah and and a blatant disregard for other humans. And being able to bring other people.on board who are actually good at stuff.
So, if Musk had never existed, where would we be?
I mean we’d be in exactly the same place but just with less talk of Musk which makes it a better place.
I suspect Elon is going to be making some lawyers (even more) rich over the next few years with this shit.
We’d probably have a less competitive market for electric cars
Maybe, maybe not. Telsa wasn’t his idea remember, he jumped on board early with money and that gave him a lot of control. With how frequently he lies, and just how stupid he appears to be at times, there’s no telling what input he actually had in their strategic direction. Toyota had shown there was a market for something other than ICE already.
How do you figure?
We’d also have a whole lot more competitive market for electric cars if GM hadn’t killed off the EV1 in the mid 90s. But it did happen, so it’s kinda redundant to argue the point.
I like the Space X stuff, but I realize that’s probably a niche interest.
I like their Starlink internet.
But would we have something better if governments didn’t abdicate responsibility for telecommunications to people like Musk in the private sector - and properly provided internet to rural areas?
Probably.
Tesla has been marketed quite well and got a whole load of people onto electric cars as a possibility for a normal car. Granted they had huge supply issues and everything else, but they really have done an amazing marketing job whether you like it or not. Throw in building the giant battery outside of Adelaide and then the solar systems for homes etc. The management of the company is a joke, but the marketing is pretty spot on.
I know that pretty much every astronomer hates it. Suddenly creates a large amount of light pollution in the sky when they’re trying to explore further.
In saying that, it’s definitely shown its strengths.
Yes, it is fucked.
Musk just wants a western WeChat… and the west doesn’t want, or want to adhere to a wechat based society.
Gets even funnier. Musk installed a giant X on twitter headquarters on the weekend. Was forced to take itndown as residents complained of strobing lights in their homes, plus they failed to get any safety permits
