You’re comparing a membership to our city’s club to spending a mint on Ange, a manager with no relationship to most of us beyond being a former national manager, who’s touring with his European team playing an exhibition game? The only disproportionate response I’ve seen to Ange is Melbourne c**ts chanting his name at one of our qualifiers while Arnie was home sick with COVID.
He’s also comparing the price of a one off game where every person there will be touching themselves to Celtic, in comparison to a season ticket where you get a whole load more games… I mean Celtic is here for the money, no other reason
I suggest we leave this alone, Shatter, as I said has every right to spend his money however he wants and perceptions of value are are highly individual.
Am I the only one thinking it’s a bit weird that Jubal pulls himself out of the argument the moment it gets suggested he’s the next coming of the Saviour?
Well one thing is for certain. There’s a lot more hype around this internet fight than there is for playing meaningless games against the small country town clubs all the way from the United Kingdom.
Come to think of it, I haven’t seen a lot of promotion for these matches at all.
Aside from maybe a quick snippet here and there on Paramount + during broadcasts, I haven’t seen any television adverts (mind you, I don’t watch FTA) for it, and I haven’t seen any other forms of advertising for it.
If it weren’t for this forum and the fact Sydney are playing some farmers league club, I wouldn’t even know it was on.
Quite the opposite. For a number for years, EPL and European clubs have come to Australia and have managed to pack out stadiums full of eurosnobs who would never consider going to an A-League Mens’ game. This year, we had a fantastic atmosphere at the Sydney Derby at near capacity, and a few days later at the same stadium a euro club will be here and play in front of a dismal crowd. I’d rather it that way around
note: Yes, I know Celtic are at a different level than Man United, Liverpool, Juventus etc.
Listening to Jonsey & Amanda on WSFM en-route to work this morning, and they were doing a promotion from The Star which included a good spiel about tonight’s game. (Obviously promoting watching said game at said morally questionable establishment…). It was one of those “read” ads, were the presenters are clearly reading off a script of paper, not a pre-recorded ad.
Amanda was very much endorsing Sydney FC, getting behind the ‘Boys in Blue’ and supporting Sydney in the match.
