Michelle Trachtenberg found dead in her apartment in NY from 39. One of my earliest teenage crushes.

Sounds like she had complications from a recent liver transplant.

Will go watch Eurotrip in memory.

What?

Methane leak maybe?

Well that sucks.

Good ol’ Jimmy McGinty……

Completely random tie-in but I had to go say hi to the guy I saw at Bunnings yesterday in a Shane Falco/Washington Sentinels jersey… I didn’t even realise they made any

They’re now saying the wife may have been dead for a longer period?

One of the 3 dogs was dead… sounds like a gas leak

Gas leak has already been ruled out.

The dog was stuffed in a cupboard. It was one of 3 German Shepherds that they owned.

There was prescription medication scattered on a bench but he was found fully clothed in the “mud room” with his cane while she was found in the bathroom.

Sounds like a staged scene to me.

And yesterday, Brian James of the Damned. He wrote most of the stuff on their first two albums including the classic New Rose.

Does the mean we’re officially of an age now?

Dunno. But that’s a full bingo card for New York Dolls and Ramones whereas the Damned and the Pistols only have one each.

Update on the Gene Hackman thing is sad reading.

Wife died of some sort of mouse-borne disease, Gene had dementia and didn’t notice for more than a week.

Grim stuff to look forward to in retirement I guess, also makes me more comfortable that I plan on going out in a heart attack before I lose my marbles.

One of my placements was in a nursing home.
Husband and wife living in a room together, both in their 90s.
She had dementia and he was just old and unwell, mentally ok.

He passed away peacefully one night. She kept asking when he was coming back to their room all the time cause she didn’t remember he died. She thought he was at the hospital, no need to tell her he died cause she would just forget.

The nurses told me that they hadn’t been living there that long. They think that once he knew she was safe and happy living there he didn’t need to be her carer anymore and he was happy to go. He’d been very sick for quite a while.

My wife’s best friend’s Mum, Delma, has Alzheimer’s. She is being cared in facility a kilometre away from her.

However thinks she is living hundreds of kilometres away in her home town near the Murrray. Therefore every time the daughter visits Delma thinks she has travelled a really long way to see her and is super happy.

Alzheimer’s is an awful disease but this quirk of memory loss gives Delma incredible joy in these visits a few times a week.
